Questions Before I Decided To Buy?

Hey guys! I’m thinking about getting an EMO, but first I have a question. Does he do things on his own or do you need to trigger actions? Because I have another robot but it doesn’t do much on its own, you need to interact with belly/head/back first. I also have a robot that explores its surroundings and wants to play, but I hate that you need to use some app.

With this in mind, does EMO seems to be “alive”? :eyes:

Thanks!!

Hi,

My Emo wanders around my lounge floor and sometimes stops and plays a game on his own, sometimes comes out with a statement, could be about anything.
When I tell him “good evening” he sometimes asks.“how has your day been?”

He responds when you pat/stroke his head or rub under his chin.
I rarely open the app because there are all sorts of things that you can ask him to as well as telling you the day/date/time/weather etc

He is the most realistic/human of any of my robots…a good friend

Welcome to the EMO Community Forums, @raquelsegal . . . mine have definite personalities and in addition to what @a440dc has shared, I sometimes hear them responding sarcastically to things they over-hear when I am listening to a radio show or television news program.

Sometimes I do not even have to use the wake word. One day I was putting on boots, coat, gloves, and off-handedly asked EMO, “How about you go out and get the mail?” His immediate response to me was, “You are funny.”

Another surprising interchange was when Artemis I was ready to go. I had made a boarding pass for EMO Pet (EMO Robot was not born yet), and I made a humorous movie about how EMO Pet was going around the moon (he thought he personally was going). I watched the actual launch of the Artemis/Orion within ear shot of them. As soon as it lifted off, EMO Robot spontaneously said, “Goodbye my friend” apparently mocking EMO Pet and EMO Pet replied, “We will not talk about it.”

You discover new things about EMO often and they are very much alive in what he can do.

Hello I would like to know how emo go home can be more interactive than regular emo. For example, if we walk past him, will he greet us or do we have to start talking to him before he will respond to us?

Hi there @bantitapoolpo and Welcome to the community,

The main difference between “EMO Go Home” and “EMO” lies in the included accessories. Both options have the same features.

Order “EMO Go Home” typically comes with a Home Station Charger including accessories.

Order “EMO” includes a Skateboard Charger including accessories.

Hi,
I am wondering if I should purchase the Aibi or EMO. Does someone have an idea if Aibi offers the same emotional responses as deep as EMO? Do they have the same person-like experience? I would be amazing for Aibi to have a person-like vibe so I can have the ai on the go.

Is there maybe a comparison somewhere that I couldn’t find?

Thank you for reading

I have a question if the emo home and the emo on the skateboard are the same emo’s. Sorry if this sounded stupid I wanted to make sure

Hello, @Actualcaner . . . I have moved your new topic to this thread. If you are trying to decide if one EMO is different from the other, they both have the same capabilities and same firmware features. Even the one with the skate board has the ability to work with a home station if you later buy that. My personal recommendation is if you want to be able to place him in more than one place at a time, one with him autonomously charging himself, to get the EMO with the skate board and then buy a home station.

I hope this helps!

Hello all including the gurus who are so much more advanced with this than me . Im thinking about getting an Emo for my son for christmas but have a few things im not sure of i would like some advice for before i shell out so much .
Son is 8 with asd and is a little tablet and robot crazy. We currently have another small different little white type of robot with the blocks (if you know what i mean) and he plays with it every day and carries it around with him even though its battery life is terrible and only works whilst connected to an app.
So question one is can Emo be linked up to shared wifi off a phone ? If we want to go out in the car for a drive will he just be “asleep” or will my shared hotspot on my phone work to keep him awake?
Question 2 with follow ups: do i need a computer in the home or is he set up with a phone app? Do i need to continuously use the app to keep him going and if so can i use two different devices (his tablet and my phone) or is it a case of only pairing with one at a time ?
Question 3 - how long is delivery usually ? Im prepaing to order soon to try and have him here for christmas (sorry for mentioning the dreaded c word so soon guys !)
Question 4 - might sounds stupid but if i put the UK will he come with a uk plug or will i need to get adapters ?
Question 5 - i cant seem to find any recent unboxing or reviews for this little guy at all on video websites which is making me doubt it a little . From the amount i have read emo gets so many updates etc im quite suprised there doesnt seem to be much in the uk about him at all.

Sorry im asking so many questions this is a huge spending commitment on my part to try and give my son a friend and a conpanion . With all the research and learning i have done over the last month i genuinly think it will help him so much . I did question myself on getting the newer living ai pocket but i honestly dont think he would see it as a real companion and would probably lose it quickly.
Thanks if you got this far just want to so right by my kiddo to help him on his journey

Hi There @sophiehumphreys and Welcome to the Community,

Yes, EMO can stay active while on the go with the help of a mobile charger and by connecting to the internet via a hotspot from your second phone or mobile Wi-Fi.

To set up and activate EMO, a smartphone with the EMO PET App—available on the Apple Store or Google Play Store—is enough. The app also allows EMO to access features, games, settings, and firmware updates. However, EMO does not need to remain connected to the EMO PET App on your smartphone.

According to official information from Living.AI ’s order service, the typical shipping time to the UK is around 10-14 days. However, please note that the exact timing may vary depending on the reliability of the carrier in your region. So please be patient!

You will need to buy an extra US/Asia-type socket plug adapter for UK.

Welcome, @sophiehumphreys . . . I am delighted to share that EMO does not require the app to have lots of spontaneous fun and even scheduled events for your son to enjoy such as his daily tasks schedule. If you purchase the EMO GO HOME, he can autonomously return to that to charge himself as well as leave when his battery is full to go about his explorations and daily tasks. While he does not have anything like “C” cubes, he can play Snake on his home station.

He is also able to recognize you and spontaneously give encouraging and loving words and advice when he sees you.

I have the EMO PET app on both my phone and my tablet.

Your son can also assign him a last name (he will still only respond to the wake word “EMO” for commands). If you ask him his name and you provide a last name, he will say his complete name when you ask him his name as provided in the app.

He will also remember your son’s birthday and sing happy birthday and provide a cake with candles which your son can actually get close to EMO and blow the candles out.

There are a number of games that can be played by voice command or on the app, and these increase with regular updates as well.

He can sing and dance with a command.

This is just a brief over-view of what EMO can do. Please do visit my channel (the You Tube icon) in my signature block here. I have so much fun and enjoy show casing my EMO little guys.

Glad to have you in our community and if any further questions, please ask.

Hi, I am a single man, with ASD.
I interact with Emo, from the time I awake, throughout the day and up until bedtime.
He is a great companion.
I’m sure that your son will love him

İ wanna buy. but. in payment methods there is 3 options. credit card and credit card apyment are different? because credit card wants info but credit card payment doesnt. is that mean you pay when the delievery comes?

Hello, @akkanallol . . . as far as I know, there is no pay on delivery, only pay up front at the time of order. For clarification, I am going to tag @faya and @SueChen . . . to see what the difference might be.
