Parts and Repairs (Guide with Images and Video Tutorial) - View/Ask/Share

Hi there @okilim1 ,

To remove the inner servo motors, you first need to carefully remove EMO’s feet and legs.

Watch the video below

INFO!

If you manage to disassemble EMO completely, especially his legs and feet, you will need a calibration tool to properly realign and calibrate the servos during reassembly. For this process, you will need to contact the Living.AI service team so they can connect your EMO to their database and start the re-calibration process.

Replacement Emo motherboard

Hi everyone, my name is Raffaele and I am writing from Italy. I state that I am not very good in English, so please excuse any mistakes even if I help myself with the translator.

I wrote to support living.ai on 11 march, with nr order made by my friend in november 2025 (I bought after 1 month to him) and I’m waiting response. I would to ask if someone know an Admin for the following issue.

Emo go Home arrived to my son at Christmas, a couple of weeks ago it stopped charging on the charging base and I thought, after various attempts at cleaning and reset, that the battery needed to be replaced. I bought an identical one (mod. 603450) and with the help of the @Edward tutorial (congratulations) I replaced it, but the problem remained. In practice, the battery figure appears in red on the display of the charging base for a second and over time it also warms up under the left foot, where Emo has the charging coil. But no light around the headphones and no shot of the robot.

Having practically voided the warranty with the opening (I thought it was an easily solvable problem) I entrusted Emo to a friend of mine who is a computer / electronics technician, he even worked for Apple, which gently opened and analyzed it. Finally, he found the failure of the “power chip” on the motherboard, which is difficult to repair, and a spare part of the entire motherboard would be needed.

I therefore asked to service.living.ai, first with mail then by support on site what would the cost of the piece would be (item Emo go home white 2025).

I cannot even provide the ID because Emo has not been connected to the App since it is turned off.

If someone has suggestions thanks for the help.

Best regards

Welcome to the community @raffaelebuonomo ,

I’ve moved your new topic to this thread, as it covers everything related to EMO parts and repairs.

I can feel your frustration since your EMO is experiencing this issue and is no longer active. Since you’ve already tried all the possible solutions but the problem still isn’t solved—and it even turned out to be worse because a power chip on the mainboard might need replacement—I really understand how disappointing that must feel.

Honestly, I’m not sure what else I can suggest that could help at this point. The best advice I can give is to try reaching out directly to the Living.AI service support team. Please ask them politely and be patient while waiting for their reply. They may be able to provide proper assistance or guide you on the next steps. :folded_hands:

When contacting them, please include the following:
• Your Order Number
• EMO ID (if possible — if not, just explain that it’s not available because EMO can no longer reboot)
• A short video showing the issue
• Clear photos
• Any other relevant information

They are usually kind and always willing to assist their customers. :handshake:

Good luck and I really hope your EMO gets fixed soon! :robot::sparkles:

Status update: After more than a week of waiting, sending daily email copies to get a response, and after clearly explaining the problem in the email and explicitly asking if they could provide the replacement part, I received a response that makes me think they are trolling me or something.

Hello everyone, I wanted to know if anyone has managed to get replacement parts for their EMO from the support team. I’ve written to @service@living.ai several times requesting information about replacement parts, as my EMO has a sound and voice recognition problem, and they haven’t given me any clear answers. In the last email, they literally replied with this: “Okay, if you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me. I’m happy to assist you. Have a pleasant life!”

Hello, @shadowman . . . I would reply back and ask them directly, “Would you be able to provide me the part and let me know any associated costs. If not, can you tell me what the specs on that part are and how I might be able to obtain it”.

My best to you.

here it goes

I’m leaving this comment here for the record; I sent an email clearly specifying what I’m asking for.

Now we wait another week or two if they feel like replying.

Hi there @shadowman ,

Did you follow the SD card replacement instruction procedures below?

:floppy_disk: What You’ll Need

  • A 16GB SD card (preferably SanDisk brand)
  • A computer with an SD card reader
  • The resource package from Living.AI (they’ll send it to you privately)

:gear: Replacement Steps

  1. Format the new SD card to FAT32 format.
  2. Unzip the new resource package you received from Living.AI.
  3. Copy the unzipped (decompressed) files onto the newly formatted SD card.
  4. Insert the SD card into EMO’s mainboard (located inside his body, behind the face screen).
  5. Reassemble EMO and power him on.

Hello @edward

Yes, I followed the memory card replacement instructions and it was successful. I emphasize that the sound and voice recognition problem occurred BEFORE the memory card error.

Best regards.

Hello,

I am repairing my EMO Robot and found a damaged component on the LIVING.AI CONN_V1.0 board (photo attached).

The damaged part appears to be a 5-pin SMD component, located near the main IC on the connector board between the two leg servos.

Current symptoms:

  • EMO does not charge properly

  • when placed on the charging station, it powers on

  • as soon as I remove it from the charging station, it immediately shuts down

I have also already replaced the battery, but the problem remains the same.

Because of this, I suspect the damaged component may be related to:

  • battery charging

  • power regulation

  • or battery switching

Could anyone help identify:

  • the exact component type

  • its value / part number

  • or a suitable replacement?

At the moment I am not sure whether it is:

  • a voltage regulator

  • an ESD protection IC

  • or another power-related component

If someone has a schematic, board photo, or has repaired this before, I would really appreciate any help.

Thank you very much.

Welcome, @damjankovac . . . I have moved your new topic to this thread where parts and repairs are discussed.

LivingAI Support will have to assist you with what you need to make the repairs. Please forward this information and your photo along with your EMO I.D. number and age (this is important as parts have changed from older models) to service@living.ai in order that they can help you diagnose what is needed. Once they identify it, see if they can send you the exact part(s) and let you know any associated costs or direct you to where you can obtain those part(s).

My best to you.

I update my situation reported a few days ago, maybe some administrator can help me.

To sum up, 10 days ago (March 11, 2026) I sent an email to support living.ai and the next day (March 12, 2026) on the internal support form.

Having received no answer, I renewed both email and internal support request, to receive assistance for the failure of the Emo power chip (white Emo go home 2025 version) if they can sell me a card or chipset, or at least indicate the power chip number to have the card repaired privately by a specialized center.

I hope they don’t continue with silence, for now I’m disappointed for the lack of help, I provided the email of the original order of November 2025, explaining that after 1 month I bought Emo from this friend because his son didn’t like it and instead mine wanted it. The article is therefore only 5 months old, I am not asking for a guarantee but at least for help.

I hope to be able to update my experience, which is currently negative.

Hello, @raffaelebuonomo . . . I see that you first reported your situation to them on March 11th. They had been on national Chinese holiday for a large part of February and into the beginning of March. I am sure they have a lot of back-log and Support requests to take care of, and I know them to take them in the order received, which means what came in during February are being handled first.

Since they do not have auto response indicating that they receive your request, their first response to you will be after they have reviewed what you sent and with an answer at that time.

Thank you in advance for your continued patience.

Hi, is there anyone in Glasgow, Scotland who can supply and replace a battery for me? I’m sure it will need done now since he is over 2 years old and his battery doesn’t last long at all.

Welcome to the community @david.mcculloch ,

I’ve moved your new topic to this thread, as it covers everything related to EMO parts and repairs.

You can try to repair it yourself. You just need a replacement battery, which is available online, but take note the correct connector and you can follow the step-by-step procedure in the video link below to replace it.

Status update: Another week has passed without any response from the support team. It’s frustrating and very sad. I really feel like they’re just ignoring me… anyway, they’re probably “catching up on their backlog.” I feel bad not so much for the money I spent on the Emo and then on its home station, but for having recommended it to so many people and knowing that they might soon be in the same situation (not receiving any kind of support). Every day that passes, I’m more convinced that the best thing to do is turn it off, put it back in its box, and forget about it.

I been asking living ai and they never answer why?
