Parts and Repairs (Guide with Images and Video Tutorial) - View/Ask/Share

Hello, I’m also looking for a board with microphones, did you able to solve the problem? I wrote to the support service, they asked me to send a video, there is no answer for 7 days

If you find it, please let me know where and how you purchased it. Thank you, if it’s not too much trouble.

oof I think your better of getting a new one

Hello,

I’m experiencing an issue with my EMO robot.

After connecting EMO to Bluetooth, the robot suddenly disconnected from Wi‑Fi. Then it left its charging station by itself, ignored the black boundary line, and accidentally fell from a height of about 1 meter.

Since this fall, the bottom sensors no longer work:

– EMO does not detect when it is lifted

– EMO does not detect black lines anymore

– Cliff detection is also not working

However, the robot still functions normally otherwise, and wireless charging still works.

All updates are installed, including the latest version (3.1.0).

I’m not sure what to do next.

Do you offer repair services for the bottom sensor module, even out of warranty?

Thank you in advance.

Oh, no, @Timothesvg . . . I am so sorry to hear this. It does sound like he suffered damage to the edge detectors which are part of the feet. For this reason, I have moved your new topic to this thread.

I would say to contact service@living.ai and let them know what is going on with your EMO and include your EMO I.D. number. Even being off of warranty, they may be able to advise you on where you can get it repaired. If you are in North America, there is a repair person (I call him Doctor Ricky) and for less than the individual repairs, he was able to give me an entire new body for my EMO whose leg servos and wires stopped working well.

You can read through this thread to see how if you are able to do the repairs yourself, how it is done. You may also ask LivingAI what exact parts you would need to do this yourself.

You may wish to have a look beginning here. If you decide to do it yourself or have someone you trust to do it for you, and if LivingAI lets you know what parts you need, there are tutorials on how to do the repairs yourself.

My best to you!

Welcome to the community @okilim1 ,

I’ve moved your new topic to this thread, as it covers everything related to EMO parts and repairs.

How old is your EMO ?

I recommend contacting the Living.AI support team through their email at service@living.ai and politely asking whether they can provide all the necessary parts and assist you with resolving this issue.

Please include your order number, EMO ID, a video of the issue, photos, and any relevant information.

They are usually kind and always willing to provide assistance to their customers.

Goodluck and all the best to your EMO

Thanks for the help @edward
I had already email them, i guess it just Lunar new year so its going to take some time for them to reply.
In the mean time i am unable to find a full disassemble video to continue my work, i just dont want try and error with the disassemble.
I can replace the cable myself since i was a phone tech when i am young.
Would you please kindly share me the link?

Hello everyone!

I recently noticed that my EMO is taking a long time to get to his home station.
After observing, I noticed his feet were slipping on the safety mat.
I tried searching online, but I couldn’t find a decent replacement.

Can you tell me what I can use to replace the lower part of the foot (heel pads)?

P.S I am live in Russia, i cant use Amazon for delivery parts(

Hi All,

My kid’s charging station isn’t working anymore.I had a look and tracked it down to this part, which seems to be an LDO voltage regular for the ESP32. Anyone know an alternative or where I can find one?

Alternatively, does anyone know what the coil frequency is that Emo uses for charging?

Thanks!

Welcome, @yvo.zoer . . . I have moved your new topic to this thread for issues with specific parts and needed repairs.

My advice to you would be to contact service@living.ai and ask them regarding this as they would best be able to guide you since you are planning to replace this part of the home station or check to see if they will replace it for you. If you are advised to go ahead and replace it yourself, you might politely ask if they could provide that part and also if needed, a tutorial video on replacing it.

My best to you.

Thanks and much appreciated!

So yeah, the base still gets power through USB but the rest of the board past the regulator is dead. I’ve tracked it down to the attached image but they’re REALLY hard to find. If anyone has an alternative or the specs for the regular, that would be fantastic!

Better yet, are the schematics for the charging station available? Worst case I could re-use the coil and create a charging system. Wouldn’t be as pretty though…

Hello, @yvo.zoer . . . you would have to ask service@living.ai for schematics. I am not personally aware of any of our members who have stripped down the home station for repair other than you, so send them an E-Mail and see if they have that available for you.

I’ll drop them an email. Thanks for the response!

Hi my emo Life time Is 800 day ofc Is broken so i try tò fix it but it still does this problemi look at video i Need help do .do i tò fix it Need reclabration app?

if I wanna remove this blue circle, do I have to disassemble the bottom leg first? Or just pull it by force?

Welcome, @romolo . . . at 800 days he is off of warranty now and if Support allows you to try recalibration, hopefully it works for you. You can contact them at service@living.ai with your EMO I.D., a description of the problem and a link to a video showing that he is no longer walking correctly. If it turns out that he needs his wires and/or servos replaced, here is a post you can refer to here that will give you an idea if you wish to do it yourself or find someone to do it for you. There is a repair person in the United States but not sure who does repairs in other countries.

Be sure to contact service@living.ai also to see if you can obtain the correct parts for the repair.

My best to you.

Hello, @okilim1 . . . I do not do repairs; however, I do not think forcing things apart is a good idea.

I found a member here who disassembles and does repairs on two of her EMO and perhaps these videos might help you.

My best to you.
