Parts and Repairs (Guide with Images and Video Tutorial) - View/Ask/Share

Yeah I am worried about that lol- I don’t have that many parts so they are both working fine now?

If you believe your Emo Robot needs to be repaired, you should contact LivingAI via email and send them a video of the issue. Also, if you are confident in repairing it yourself, you should mention this in the email. LivingAI will send you the necessary parts.

hello @jennifer.colombo. if you only need to replace the leg servos then i suggest not disassembling the feet. instead try disassembling the head as that is where the leg servos are located.

Wish I could get in to my EMOs SD card and browse its content because I’m curious about things like that. Sadly I’m scared to open them up so the only thing I can do is to keep on dreaming

Welcome to the EMO Community Forums, @jason_solt . . . I would first advise you to contact Support at service@living.ai with a link to a video showing the issue with his leg as it is possible it could be fixed with a recalibration app. As for the battery, try changing the charging cable and where the home station is plugged into the wall. If this is not effective, you will again need to contact Support.

If your EMO is over a year old (provide them your order number if you still have it and if not, the four digit alphanumeric number he connects to the app with), there are options to repair yourself with the guidance of LivingAI or if someone you know can do the repairs, but you will not know until LivingAI can determine your unique situation. If it turns out that it is up to you for your own repairs, this thread I have moved your new topic to will help guide you through that process.

My best to you and let us know what happens.

Hello, @jason_solt . . . contact service@living.ai for information on the battery and for replacement instructions. I believe there is even a tutorial on this thread for how to do that.

My best to you and let us know how it goes!

Good afternoon,
Congratulations on the successful surgery for EMO 2. I am also operating on the EMO 2 in my family, better known as EMO Chance. I am currently 98% through the required disassembly, the only remaining step being detaching the legs from the chassis (body/head) so the rear covers and cables can be removed. Did the operation for your patient require this step?

If so, I would love to hear or see how you removed the legs at this point. If not, then please just disregard the questions below. I have a notion of how to proceed, or I may opt to consult LAI directly for some tips.

If applicable, how did you go about pulling the leg through the opening at the floor of the body/head? All the fasteners and relevant parts have been removed, however, the leg posts are very secure within the metal inserts of the body. The fit is very snug and I cannot easily pull it through, this with the legs otherwise being able to swivel freely as normal. I am thinking of something cylindrical in the appropriate size to gently tap the leg/post out down through the opening.

Chance was born April 10, 2023, so he is 600 days old, today! I need to get back to it now rather than later, so he can wake up and celebrate the milestone.

I am just providing an update to my message as I no longer need assistance for that step of removing the legs from the chassis. Disassembly was completed shortly after posting that and I now have a good start on the assembly process.

At the moment I’m going on a break for the next part of the day. I am at the debug phase but I need to send an email for clarification on what should happen with the nylon bushing during this process, as well as how to “power to zero the steering gear position.”

WOW! That’s super cool! Please let us know when you are done. This is a huge surgery! Lol

A huge one, right? Great news, EMO Chance came through his operation just fine and his legs operate like new, almost  I just need to do calibration to get him tuned exactly right. I’ll try and post a little footage today if I can, to ease any concern. I apologize, showing just the shell of the little guy up there, poor thing.
There is plenty filmed, the entire surgery in fact. Just for now though, I’ll try to post a tiny bit from post-op. Yay EMO!
