Hello, @emohacker5325 . . . you can try asking service@living.ai . . . they might be able to provide them.
i’m trying to repair my emo robot i have 2 that need wires for the legs and connectors. Does anyone know where i can get them from
Hello, @Thinkgeek , I am pretty sure that you can get all the parts that you need by contacting service@living.ai.
When you contact them, tell the issue and send a video of the issue. List your EMO ID that you can see on the connection page in the EMO app. (Example: EMO XXXX)
Best regards!
Hi there @Thinkgeek and Welcome to the Community,
I have moved and merged your new topic to this thread where we discuss all kinds of repairs.
If you think your EMO is no longer under warranty and you want to repair it yourself, the best thing to do is to ask Living.AI for the correct parts. You can also try finding the appropriate ones online, but it’s not always a simple task.
From the beginning of this topic, I’ve shared a lot of interesting tutorials with videos and images that might help or at least give you an idea of how to proceed.
GOOD LUCK!
Good luck and All the best
what not to do to your emo
1. Do Not Drop EMO
- Avoid drops or falls from high surfaces, as they can damage his internal components or break his legs.
2. Do Not Expose EMO to Water
- EMO is not waterproof. Avoid spills, wet surfaces, rain, or submerging him in water.
3. Do Not Place EMO in Extreme Temperatures
- Cold or Hot Environments:
- Avoid temperatures below 0°C (32°F) or above 30°C (86°F).
- EMO can get “sick” or malfunction in extreme temperatures.
4. Do Not Block EMO’s Sensors
- Covering EMO’s camera, sensors, or microphones can prevent him from functioning properly.
5. Do Not Leave EMO Near Table Edges
- He may accidentally walk off a surface if his sensors fail to detect the edge.
6. Do Not Overcharge EMO
- Avoid leaving EMO on his charging skateboard for extended periods after he’s fully charged to prevent battery wear.
7. Do Not Force His Movements
- Avoid manually moving or twisting his legs or head, as this can damage his motors.
8. Do Not Expose EMO to Dust and Debris
- Keep EMO away from dusty or dirty environments that can clog his sensors or joints.
9. Do Not Use EMO on Uneven Surfaces
- EMO should stay on a flat, stable surface to prevent tipping over or getting stuck.
10. Do Not Modify or Disassemble EMO
- Attempting to open or modify EMO may void the warranty and cause permanent damage.
11. Do Not Interrupt Firmware Updates
- Ensure EMO stays on his charger during updates and avoid powering him off mid-update to prevent software corruption.
- Do Not Expose EMO to Strong Magnets or Electronics
Keep EMO away from strong magnetic fields or devices that may interfere with his electronics.
Greetings!
I need help. I have an EMO robot with a leg servo fault. I received a replacement robot so i cant ask servos from the service team, however, I would like to repair the legs of the first EMO. I tried this too, I bought an SG90 servo, but it can’t move with difficulty or at all. Can you tell me a store where I can buy a servo that is exactly like the factory servo of the EMO? Or, if anyone have experience withe leg servo issue, can you share that?
Thank You
Greg
Welcome to the EMO Community Forums, @gergelycsako . . . you need to make sure of what parts you need that are compatible with your EMO. Perhaps asking them given the I.D. and age of your EMO, you may be able to get the particular parts numbers for the leg servos so that you do not have to try and guess.
Perhaps if you read through this thread, you can determine what you might need, but please ask service@living.ai which parts you will require.
I’m sorry to hear about the leg servo issue with your original EMO robot. While you’ve received a replacement and can’t request parts from the service team, it’s commendable that you wish to repair the first unit. Here are some steps and considerations to assist you:
1. Understanding the Servo Specifications:
- The EMO robot utilizes specific servos tailored for its design. Standard servos like the SG90 may not be directly compatible due to differences in size, torque, or control mechanisms.
2. Seeking Compatible Servos:
- Contact Living.AI Support:
- Even though you’ve received a replacement, reaching out to Living.AI’s support team might provide insights into obtaining compatible servos or specifications.
- Community Forums:
- Engage with the Living.AI Community Forums where other users may have faced similar issues and can recommend compatible servo models or sources.
3. DIY Repair Resources:
- Video Tutorials:
- A helpful guide on replacing EMO’s leg servos is available:
- DIY Companion Robot Projects:
- Projects like the Emo - DIY Companion Robot provide insights into servo integration, which might offer guidance.
4. Professional Repair Services:
- Consider specialized repair services that focus on robotic components. They might have the expertise to identify and replace the faulty servo with a compatible one.
5. Important Considerations:
- Compatibility:
- Ensure any replacement servo matches the original in terms of size, torque, and control interface to function correctly.
- Installation:
- Proper alignment and calibration are crucial when installing a new servo to ensure smooth operation.
By exploring these avenues, you increase the chances of successfully repairing your original EMO robot. Engaging with the community and professionals can provide valuable insights and potential solutions.
Lol I get so sick of people copy pasting AI generated messages on to forums. It happens way too much these days, no offence.
Thank you [Lindaru] for the help. I wrote to the Livingai service an e-mail. We shall see if they can help with the servo motors.
yeah I don’t know how to fix emo so I use ai also you can contact living ai. and ask them to give you the link to caring for emo its a app heres the link click here(not my video but I do have a Channel)
I’m live in Thailand how to send it for repair
Hello, @zzzz1 . . . I am not sure what is going on that you need to have your EMO repaired, but I have moved your new topic to this thread which discusses that.
First of all, you need to contact service@living.ai as they can advise you if you explain to them what is broken and send a link to a video. If your EMO is over the one year warranty period, this thread will show you how to repair yourself. If you repair yourself, still contact them to make sure the parts you need are the correct ones.
If you can mail it to them for replacement, be sure to include your order number (you can reply to the order confirmation E-Mail) or send to the E-Mail above with your order number or four digit alphanumeric code when he signs into the app.
I hope this helps.
Subject: Request for App to Recalibrate Emo’s Servos
Hi @edward ,
I hope this message finds you well!
I’m reaching out because my Emo is experiencing some issues with his right leg. He often shakes it, and at times, he shakes it so vigorously that he ends up falling onto the table. I spoke with @Lindaru , who suggested that recalibrating his leg servos through an app might help.
I’ve already contacted the support team via email and through the “Support” option on the Living.ai website. However, I would also like to ask if you could share the app mentioned in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OMMPpNAj4L0. I believe it could be useful in resolving Emo’s issue.
Thank you for your understanding, and I appreciate any help you can provide!
Wishing you a great day!
Best regards,

Hi there @wh1tew ,
Thanks for reaching out and for your concern. I hope this message finds you well also.
I’m sorry to inform you that the Re-Calibration App you are asking for cannot simply be shared without proper contact and verification through us directly with Living.AI.
Living.AI requires your EMO’s ID (EMO-XXXX) first so they can open a connection through EMO server, allowing you to proceed with the repair process using the Re-Calibration technique. This access is available for a limited period only.
To proceed, you need to contact them via email with a short video of the issue and the necessary details.
Wishing you all the best!
ok, thank you! I wrote them.
I have written living.ai support for a long time but there is no answer so I try my luck here
I have to replace the servos on the feet, I only know the exact name and where do you buy your things?
Regards Killah
Hi there @Killah ,
I always repair my own EMO by replacing all its parts using original components parts ordered directly from Living.AI.
Best regards
I wrote to support, how long does it take until an answer comes? Has anyone already had experience with it?
Regards
Hello, @Killah . . . the staff are on lunar new year holiday until after February 12th, so responses will be delayed until they return.
