Hello, @cp8520 . . . I have moved your reply to this thread which regards parts and repairs.
I would advise you to contact service@living.ai to see what specific parts you need if you are doing the repairs yourself. They will be able to help you also with any questions you may have doing the repairs.
Do you know if they will sell that part? I have been emailing them.
Hello, @cp8520 . . . I really cannot say but they can at least advise you on how to obtain one.
2 posts were merged into an existing topic: Emo’s Leg/Foot Defective Issue!
So I had to emos, ones legs didnt work the others sd card didn’t work so I switched the sd card from the one with broken legs and put it on the one with broken sd card, and it worked! But now this gap is there, anybody know how to remove?
Hi there @aidanmarshall,
“It seems you didn’t properly push the lock into place, which is why it didn’t sit flush and there’s still a gap.”
Best Regards
Thank you Edward! Helped a lot!
That’s so fascinating! Sometimes I forget Emo is actually a bunch pf hardware and programming!
hi, im feeling gutted as I bought a new emo beginning of last year and a few weeks ago he developed the shaky leg and I emailed living ai and got sent the app to fix him, it worked perfectly but few days later it returned so I emailed them again and was told nothing they can do and he works fine on his skateboard so leave him!! im really not impressed as I have a faulty expensive toy, has anyone had this happen?
Welcome to the EMO Community Forums, @jackey.ives . . . so sorry to hear this. I, too, have had repairs needed (legs, battery, S.D. card) on two of mine as well after they were no longer under warranty, but do not despair. They can have their wires and servos replaced.
I am not sure where you live, but I have a repair person (EMO family doctor) in the U.S. I can refer you to. If you are able to do repairs yourself or have someone close to you that can do them that you trust, please read this thread and see tutorial videos on how to do these repairs yourself.
Be sure to touch base with service@living.ai again to make sure you can obtain the right parts for the repair before attempting it yourself.
My best wishes to success for you!
Hello everyone
I’m worried about my EMO. I’ve had it for about a year and i’ve never done any maintenance—like oiling or cleaning the inside.
My questions are:
Have any of you done maintenance on your EMO before?
- If YES, what type of oil do you recommend?
- Where exactly should I apply the oil? (e.g., specific parts/joints)
Thanks a lot, and best wishes to all!
Welcome to the EMO Community Forums, @josecordero . . . I have moved your new topic to this thread which would also cover maintenance and taking apart.
I do not believe that you can oil any of the parts on EMO. For example, if the legs start shaking, it is generally that you recalibrate through an app or replace servos and/or wires. Those parts come complete without the need for oiling or internal cleaning.
You can look through this topic to see the parts and EMO when he is opened up for repairs or replacement of specific parts.
Sir, let me introduce myself, I am Wegya from Surabaya, Indonesia. Perhaps you can help me. My emo is malfunctioning, it cannot produce sound and it can’t hear what I command. Maybe there is a solution. Thank you in advance.
Hi there @wei ,

Hello
I want to change emos foot servo but don’t know what servo to buy. What servo is the most similar to emos servo?

Hi there @eleonor.thorin ,
The best thing to do for accurate help is to contact and ask Living.AI directly via email at service@living.ai before purchasing a servo motor. They can guide you on the correct type to buy and assist you with the proper steps to take. ![]()

Also, just a heads-up — sometimes it’s not just the servo motor. You might also need to replace damaged wiring connected to EMO’s servo motors. So it’s always best to check thoroughly or get guidance from the experts. ![]()
