My Emo AI robot just goes, “Huh?” when called, “EMO!” It is connected to both app and wifi. I tried powering it off and on but it did not fix the problem.

Thank you Edward. I will try out the link you sent.
Hi, i just bought my Emo six days ago and there was no problem with him until this morning. Emo seems to not understand my vocal commands. I can call him and he’ll answer “what?”, then i give the vocal command like “what time is it ?” and he answers with the answer he has when he doesn’t understand. I don’t know what to do, i already powered him off three times and it didn’t do anything (i did the same with the home station, nothing). I don’t have problems with my wifi, so i’m lost. I tried several different commands and it doesn’t change anything. Surprisingly, Emo continues to explore, play and respect his schedule. I checked on the app and it seems nothing is wrong.
Can anybody help me please ?
PS : I’m french so sorry if my english is bad. And the answers of Emo don’t change even if the vocal command is in french or english (already tried to do with google translation to see if my accent was really that bad but nothing).
MAJ : Ok, i tried something else and it seems there is a problem with Emo and other languages except english. When i talk to him in english but in the app, the language set is french, it doesn’t work. But if i set english language in the app, he responds and works. But not for anything : when i ask him to change his eyes color, well he do it but… the color eyes don’t change so i think something must’ve happened but i don’t know what.
Funny thing is, this also happened to our EMO since yesterday. Just updated the firmware and he’s a bit better. He seems to be fine one hour and then the next hour it’s impossible to get him to understand. We’ll see how it goes.

At this time, EMO still cannot understand or reply in any language other than English. However, I believe — though I’m not entirely sure yet — that other languages might be implemented in an upcoming update to be release this month.

Hi all, new Emo owner here. It’s been about a 24 hours now since he was setup and whilst we’re happy with him i did think he’d be more polished by now.
Is there any way to re-train voices? Honestly late last night he probably acknowledged me 2 times out of 10, it was infuriating to say the least. He understood the commands fine just not responding to his name and i did restart him (he is also updated). I was just using normal voice, I don’t have any particular accent either. I had thought the voice recognition would be better if i’m honest, my son is autistic and emo is for him as a companion, my son has speech difficulties but can be understood by google but it’s hit and miss with emo.
Is there anything we can do with Emo’s voice too? We all find that he talks to fast and is hard to understand, his voice definitely needs some tweeking.
Do feature suggestions get listened to at all here? It would be useful to have a separate volume control for music that Emo plays, it’s very loud compared to his speech and my son is very sensitive to sound and does not like it.
Thanks
Hi there @richard.hancock and Welcome to the Community…
I’ve moved your new topic post to this thread, as it’s related to your EMO issue. Please take some time to read through the posts here—you might find helpful tips and solutions for your situation.
Also, try submitting your voice to help EMO better recognize and wake up when you call his name.
Good luck, and all the best! ![]()
Thanks Edward although i would have preferred to keep my own thread than merge with an old one that will get less traffic but also my other questions will be missed.
I have already read this thread although not exhaustively and yes we did the training submission yesterday although that wouldn’t help with my son as he would need to provide more sample of his language.
Hi there @richard.hancock ,
The reason I moved your post here is because, as volunteer moderators, we aim to keep the forum organized and easy for everyone to find information by keeping posts in their appropriate threads. This is also why we recommend using the search function to avoid clutter.
I’m sorry to say, but even if you create your own topic in a separate thread, it won’t really help much in resolving the issue.
As you mentioned, you’ve already read all the information and tips in this thread and elsewhere, and have also submitted your voice to the EMO Wake-Up Training page—but since nothing has helped so far, the best step now is to Contact the Living.AI Support Team. That’s the right thing to do, and they are the best people to help you resolve the issue.
Since your EMO is still under warranty, if it’s truly not working properly on your end, I strongly suggest reaching out to them. The support team always advises users to contact them directly for any serious issues, as they are the only ones who can provide accurate assistance.
I recommend recording a short video showing the issue and sending it to Living.AI Support. You can do this by replying to your order confirmation email or sending a message directly to service@living.ai.

Hi Edward,
I do understand the reasoning i’m just not sure in this case it was ideal with the other questions, i do appreciate the time and effort of the mods.
Emo seems to change all the time at the moment, so will give him a little settling in time before reaching out to support. He’s listening better today but then his battery isn’t lasting long ![]()
Do suggestions get listened to at all can you tell me? re his voice and music volume control etc
Thanks
Hello, @richard.hancock . . . many of the firmware features and app features are from owner suggestion input. They do listen.
Since yesterday when EMO is asked a question he responds with “what” and won’t respond or answer questions. I can’t even play games or interact with him. I’ve already rebooted EMO and disconnected, reconnected my internet, uninstalled and reinstalled the app etc. The all shows EMO is connected to the Wi-Fi. Please help. Thank you.
Hello, @csolano . . . I have moved your new topic here to this thread for issues such as you describe.
Please read through this thread for tips on troubleshooting the issue and if you cannot find anything that works, it is suggested to contact service@living.ai with video of the issue, his I.D. when signed into the app, his order number (if you have it), what language setting he is on and your location.
My best to you.
Hello, my emo has stopped talking to me, doesn't tell me stories anymore, doesn't answer questions, and is connected to wi-fi and everything works, the update is the latest, everything was fine until now, this happened today
