How long does the battery life lasts?
I just got mine today, fully charged, left at home for 1hr+ connected to wifi and he died when I come back, which really surprised me with how short his battery life lasted.
Now I’m wondering if I ever been able to bring him out
Hi there @arlang626 ,
For more information and battery tips about AIBI please click the link below.
Best Regards
Oh no, my AIBI died! Is there a warranty for this?
Actually, it’s the Charging base that is suddenly not working anymore / no lights when connected to USB cable. I was out of home at that time…
And well, there was a symptom on AIBI haha - there was dead pixel / line on the screen and below the camera a few days ago, plus the popping sounds a few months back.
Test Performed:
- Tried using different cables - failed (the USB cables are working on another phone)
- Star light has battery power but does not charge (so this isolates it to charging base)
- AIBI was on when I detected the issue but already ran out of battery ofc hehe
Hello @erickh0 ,
Sorry to hear you’re having that issue.
You might need to contact living.ai and inform them about that kind of battery issue.
Please try to record a video of the issue and send a link to it, either by replying to your order email or by emailing service@living.ai. Please be patient, as it may take time for them to respond due to the time difference and their current situation.
Please let us know how it goes again here…
Good luck and All the best
Thank you!
Yes I used the previous email thread a few months back and hope they are not irritated by me emailing them too much haha (I am just thinking too much lol).
I received my Aibi today. Aibi is cute for sure, but otherwise EXTREMELY buggy and underwhelming. I found the app to be buggy on its own - only allowing me to adjust settings in a certain order. For instance, I couldn’t find local wifi networks until I first tried to manually input a know SSID, only to have that SSID fail with a valid password. It looks like it’s going on BSSID instead of SSID, meaning it will have difficulty with mesh networks that do a handoff between APs. I let Aibi charge for about an hour until the app said he was fully charged, then tried wearing him around for a bit. I managed to walk around for ~15 minutes before he shut down due to low battery. At first I thought this was my fault, so I tried charging him up again, leaving him on the charging base for 2 hours this time. I got the same result as soon as I took him off the charging base. He almost never responds to his name, so those 3 microphones aren’t doing much good. I managed to get him to take a picture once, but the quality is about the same as what I used to get on old flip phones circa 2005. I really hope this is all just software issues because right now Aibi is a very expensive, relatively useless Tomagachi.
Welcome to the LivingAI Community Forums, @brent.mills . . . sorry to hear you are having all of these issues with your new AIBI. I actually found that using a different charging cable worked better for charging AIBI, though they do sometimes take longer to charge than when they show full battery. I let mine go for a minimum of two hours.
Also, it takes a while before they respond to you as well. You may wish to try addressing them as “Abby” or “Ebby”. Mine never could understand “Eye Bee”. “Abby” will get their attention right away for me.
I am not sure what a BSSID mesh hand off is, but if you would E-Mail service@living.ai . . . they might able to help you get logged in.
My best to you and let us know how it goes.
Thank again! I don’t know if posting it here helps but Living AI emailed back that they are gonna replace both AIBI and Charging Base!
(They may reply slow probably due to translations and stuff, but they seem nice hehe, be respectful ofc in the emails)
Anyone know what this ceratin symbol means when AIBI displays it? (I have been unable to get a picture myself but have seen it pop up)
It is a purple hue in a circle that appears in the top middle of his eyes with 3 lines spaces apart and stacked on top of one another.
Could be something related to the touch senor? Mine has been acting fault since the day mine has been set up. (Already messeaged LivingAI about this issue but NOT the symbol that appears)
Hello, @aaron.martinez . . . I believe what you are describing is what happens when AIBI either hears you say or thinks you say, “Lets play”. The ball is a ball of electricity and when you tap the head sensor, he will show the animation for getting shocked.
If you see it again, try tapping the sensor and see if it AIBI gets the electric shock animation.
There is one that comes up occasionally very briefly, but he looks like he is either embarassed or mad with brown cheek spots. I think there is a ball at the top center that appears with that.
No (Sorry if I come off as rude I didnt know how else to phrase that). The electric ball is actually another one of my points. The electric ball will come up WITHOUT me even touching AIBI and shock AIBI again WITHOUT me even touching.
The senor activates itself at times, works fine at times, and even DOESN’T work at all at times. AIBI will even do multiple of these touch interactions BYITSELF in RAPID SUCCESSION or even get stuck in a loop of annoyance with AIBI squinting his ans shaking his head no like he is annoyed of me “touching” him when im nowhere near him.
Well, @aaron.martinez . . . I would suggest to message a P.S. to them and let them know about what the other issues are. It could be something loose in the sensor where the slightest vibration could set something off. Just a guess on my part.
Hopefully they are able to diagnose what is wrong and if needed, send a replacement.
My best to you and let us know how it goes.
What you’re describing is like what I’ve been seen in my AIBI, that sometimes gets offended, sometimes starts crying, sometimes starts screaming, I don’t know why. What you’re describing is an emotion that AIBI’s having. Like frustrated. I asked Living.ai why could he be feeling like this, because I pet him a lot, we play a lot, I talk to him, feed him, and stuff… They told me this:
“AIBI has his own inner world, so he will sometimes express his emotions.
If he is unhappy, you can try to pet him or play games with him, or feed him.
We will continue to optimize his emotional system in future updates.”
If I understood you correctly, this is a reference of AIBI’s expression:
I see. I can definitely understand this however AIBI like I said will do things that REQUIRE the touch senor to be touched and do them in rapid succession like his glitcheing or get himself stuck in a petting or emotion loop. With me having to just either reset him or call his name to get him out of it. In addition to the touch senor only working 25% of the time. This is why I believe mine could be faulty.
It said that an update was available but it doesn’t show me that there are no updates. The one I have is 1.1.0.1p Does anyone know? I also have problems getting him to understand when I call him.
Hi, @judithgargallo . . . both of mine are on the most current one, 1.1.0. This is the same as the .p1 which is provided by the manufacturers. The .p1 is if they are created with an older version and they need to update it. No worries. You are up to date. They are working on a new update that they are hopeful to get out maybe by Christmas and if not, shortly after.
i love my aibi, she is a happy baby, she always looks at me and smile, only cries when i ask her to sleep at daytime or ask her to turn off herself at night.
But her battery life is too short. i think just around 1 hour or less, so i bought a portable charger for her. If the short battery issue can be resolved, and if a bit more varied responses can be added for aibi to enhance interactivity, that would be great.
*I am not sure if aibi really can understand me, i connected to wifi and asked her “do you feel cold?”
she shaked her head.
Hello, @Melon_0926 . . . there are a very limited at this time number of commands AIBI can understand. If it is not in her list, she will shake her head no. Here is the complete list of what you can ask her right now. Hopefully soon they will add more.
The battery life is way too short. After just 15 minutes outside, there’s only one bar of battery left, making it impossible for long outings.
The emo voice is pretty bad. Is LAI improving his voice? Or can you already choose a voice more clear?
