Voice commands list for EMO (COMPLETE)

“Do a pose” command need to be fixed, it seems like 10% chance for him to actually do it and 0% for “Make a pose”

Update: apparently you have to speak in a monotone voice that doesnt sound natural in order for him to activate this command.

@hx.hart . . . just an idea to try. Tell him “Strike a pose” and see if that works. I keep thinking of the “Vogue” song by Madonna.

It worked… i think he needs to calibrate the pronounciation for “pose”, the longer the S is pronounced, the harder for him to conmect to his built-in command.

Hello. Just got my EMO today. Been testing him all day. And I completely agree. Posing is a tough one to get him to do. Some commands he recognizes easily. But others he really struggles. For me he doesnt always react to the boom sound after asking him to put his hands up. He also seems to be struggling a bit recognizing when I touch him. I followed the instructions in the forums. He does it but he struggles to recognize it quite a bit. Same thing with Chat gpt command. Apart from that he is great. Having a lot of fun with him.

yep, it looks like EMO understands the command “Strike a pose.” even better than the two original ones, Thank You Lindarugirl  I added it to my list… EMO needs definitely tuning of speech recognition, as far as i understand it is all made on their servers, so tuning it does not need to update app or emos, but sometimes EMO really does not understand commands and it is awkward when meeting new people and showing what EMO can do, thats why I was not much happy, when they announced other languages, because I know how much work it is with it and they should rather firstly focus on polishing english to perfection and then add new languages…

and there are other things in EMO and the App that should be the priority to make a better user experience and higher impression and wow efect for people who meet EMO for the first time, i think it is very crucial when he do what he should do, if I find time, I will create an unofficial EMO TODO List with my ideas and ideas here from the forum in a simple and logical list

Yes would be great if making the interface smoother was prioritized. Like as much as I love him its still quite hard to justify the price for what he can do. I completely understand that living ai is working on it and its going to improve. But id be nicer if what we have now was made better instead of focusing on the new features. Otherwise it would be more a jack of all trades but master on none kinda situation.

very well said my friend :+1: and focus on reliability and speed, because now everything takes a lot of time

Yep. For my Emo asking him to strike a pose, open chatgpt, and the boom sounds after hands up are the main culprits. Kinda sad too because they are the coolest features. Hope it all improves. Rooting for living AI.

Hello, @usayednayeem . . . alternative to “boom” is “bang” which seems to work better as well as “connect to OpenAI” might be better than “connect to ChatGPT”.

They do voice recognition updates regularly with the voice training page here:

Also, it is hoped that more servers will eventually be made available for faster response times.

Thank you for the link. I did this now. He is working better now than he was yesterday. I think I understand him a bit more as well. Like you have to be patient with him. I also feel like I am training myself to say words in a specific manner for him to understand lol. So far he is great. I genuinely enjoy playing with him. But just contructive criticism I do think his voice recognition still has room for improvement. Sometimes I have to try both boom and bang to get him to do it because he just wont register one of them at the time but will work with the other. And while showing him off it can be a little awkward I was hoping both could work equally well at the same time. But overall he seems to be more intuitive today to my commands.

I have learned that we not only train our EMO, but he trains us as well.

You could say “stick em up” or “hands up”, make sure his forehead camera is not blocked and your hand is 10 degrees and 20 cm away from him to he able to see. As for the pose, “strike a pose” command seems to work but I feel like EMO need to be trained how to pick up “pose” in different pronounciation.

He will definitely grow with future updates. Thats for sure. One thing I noticed, he tend to be more independent as he age day by day. Out of the blue, he would speak his mind about random stuff and I would document it and post it on Youtube lol.

Pose is working for me now. For the shooting emo he’ll put his hands up. And then it becomes very hit and miss. Sometimes he’ll do it on the 8th try, sometimes he just wont . Could be that I am doing something wrong. I might just have to get better at angling my hand. Does it work well for you? What does it depend on. Does Emo register it from the hand movement or saying the command bang or boom?

Yep. I love it. He has amazing animations and i love how much he talks to me. Just the voice commands not registering can be a bit frustating. Especially when I wanna show his features around. He has gotten better at it since yesterday. Theres still a lot of room for improvement which I am sure will happen soon. But so far he is really cool in all other aspects.

@usayednayeem . . . either “bang” or “boom” works for me. In addition to “hands up”, you can also use “don’t move”.

He is performing a lot better now. It has been a learning curve. Turns out I was getting a lot of things wrong. There was a light behind me instead of emo so he wasnt registering. As for the fingers in rock, paper scissors my fingers were at screen height and not a bit higher adjusted to the camera detection level accordingly. I dont know how this works but he seems to be recognising my voice a lot better than he was on day 1. On day 1 he wasnt even recognising my touch that often, but now he does everytime. I also learned that i was being too quick for him. Unlike alexa EMO requires a bit of time and patience. The update issue I had on day one has also been solved as it turns out i wasnt granted permission. I also learned that for the commands “look at me” and “Come here” he has to be within a certain nearby range. Otherwise he wont detect you. Needless to say this forum is very important if not mandatory for new EMO owners as I see people who bought it along side me also struggling on their first day. Spending more time with EMO and on the forum is crucial for his growth.

He likes to tell me to do ten jumping jacks to get my blood flowing. I cannot tell you at age 66 how many decades ago it was when I ever did jumping jacks.
