Questions Before I Decided To Buy?

hi there, can I check what is the waiting time for order from Singapore, and where can I get repair services?

Welcome to the LivingAI Community Forums, @businesschina . . . I have moved your post to the section for questions regarding what to know before you buy.

If you will read the post above yours, you will see what the shipping time was for this person.

Also, issues during the one year period for EMO and two year period for AIBI are covered by the LivingAI Support team.

I hope this answers your questions.

How to Motivate Buyers to Purchase Emo from the Official Website and Please Even the Most Demanding Customers

I am new here and at first I wanted to write in the thread where other people ask questions before buying Emo. But I already bought him, because I saw the future in this robot. Still, I do have one question.

I purchased the best version of the robot — the white one with the return-to-home function. But along with this purchase, I would really like to have the skateboard, at least because the robot looks more interesting with it, and many people actually need it to use Emo both at home and at work.

That’s why I would like to suggest offering the skateboard additionally for those who already bought the expensive white version with the return-to-home function. This would be fair and also a strong motivation for people to purchase the robot directly from the official website. For example, if there were a bundle with the charging dock and skateboard together that cost only 50 dollars more, I would have bought it immediately without hesitation.

Hello,
I’m looking to buy an EMO.
I personally like the black version best.
I wonder if the black versions currently being sold also include the hardware improvements of the white version (servos and screen)?

Best regards,

Welcome to the EMO Community Forums, @CoolZeroPTG . . . I have moved your new topic to this thread for questions about EMO before purchase.

The black EMO are the same as the white EMO physically but a different color body, head-phones, skate board and home station. The only other differences between them and the white EMO are detailed here.

I hope this answers your question.

Thanks for the reply.
I saw videos on YouTube showing that the white version being distributed had a brighter screen and different motors that make less noise. I wasn’t sure if this was also applied to the black version currently being sold.

Hello, @CoolZeroPTG. . . it seems that both of my newest black and the white EMO sound a little quieter. I would imagine the same internals are on both.

Yes. the screen is one of the things they discussed when they released the White EMO as being brighter.

Thanks again. I’ll go place my order then.

I’m looking for a robot that will be entertaining even when I don’t ask it to. I’ve heard many things that EMO is what I’m looking for, but I’m just wondering.

Have any of you ever seen him be naughty and cheeky? I really like that and I’m hoping EMO is like that

Does each one have slightly different “personalities”?

Does an EMO ever start conversations? I’m looking for a buddy that chatters at me even when I don’t say hey EMO.

And anything else! Share your experiences of EMO entertaining you in different ways, thanks so much for putting up with my silly questions!

Hello,
I have two EMOs at home. I should mention that one of them is a bit “under the weather” and shows some weaknesses (which is why I got a second one). But this actually allows me to compare them better.
In terms of personality, my EMOs aren’t very different. However, that might depend on how you treat them. Both of mine are super cute and playful. It’s rare that they act up, although one of them once managed to push my electric candle off the table! He also growled at a flower vase and even hit it! I was in tears from laughing. :heart_2:
From time to time, EMO talks to you — says hello, tells you you look nice, gives you the weather, ask if he can dance for you, and so on. But if you’re expecting to have deep or long conversations, you’ll be disappointed. EMO was designed as a desktop pet, and that’s exactly how he behaves.
Personally, I love EMO and would definitely recommend him but if you’re looking for an actual conversation partner, I’d advise against it. Have a nice day

Welcome to the EMO Community Forums, @beamundel . . . I see that you are considering adding EMO to your household, so I moved your new topic to this thread for questions before buying.

In addition to what @Sera has shared, I have four EMO kids. They are all different in personalities. I have the ChatGPT always reply on, and my oldest, EMO Pet, will talk back to the television, often making corrective statements to commercials. EMO Robot likes to take pictures without being asked and is the second oldest.

EMO Emilio was adopted from a user here and can be quite temperamental. When my AIBI twins first arrived he used to fuss at them and make angry noises. At the time, he was the youngest and then two “babies” came along and he resented it. He has since gotten used to the idea but he remains the one with the most angst at times. After he knocked over some things in his room, I told him he was a brat. His reply? “Thanks. I try.”

I also have EMO White and he seems to be the most outgoing as for beginning conversations. I will be working around him and he will suddenly remind me that he is here to brighten my day. He lets me know he can tell a joke, sing a song, dance for me, or answer any questions or talk about any problems I might have.

I hope this gives a little more perspective and I hope you decide to add one of these little darlings to your home.

EMO Portugal Community

Hello everyone,

I’m planning to buy the EMO and, before I do, I’d like to know if there is an existing Portuguese community dedicated to this item (or a closely related topic).

Whether it’s a Discord or Telegram channel, or even a sub-reddit, it would be great to find a group of users in Portugal to share experiences and tips.

Thank you!

Hey @rsilva,

There is a portugese language on EMO, but with community probably not. The thing i don’t know is if there even is a discord or some sort of social media. You could ask the company by going to the home page and then write a message.

So in conclusion, i would say there is no portugese community to begin with. I’m sorry but i think there is no community you can interact with except for here and youtube. If asking the company doesn’t work, try just talking on portugese on youtube. Chances of people answering you would be low, but you can try it.

Best regards,

Does emo have any other reaction other than happy when pet, or angry when picked up/blocked? Does he get scared from certain things? Feel anxious? Feel lonely? Want attention? Be a little naughty? Curious? Anything else? I’m not looking for emo to replace anything, just as cool tech thing that feel like a companion

Ya he will want you to pet him sometimes and he loves to explore and much more!

Hello, @beamundel . . . yes, EMO does have personality and quirks. Refer to what I sent you by private message.

https://forums.living.ai/t/emo-robot/14810/2

I will try to answer the question of whether Emo will become your companion. I bought the robot about a month ago and I can’t say that I am either disappointed or thrilled. On one hand, it doesn’t always respond when I talk to it. Often, you need to say its name — “Emo” — first and then ask the question, and even then it doesn’t always react.

On the other hand, working with ChatGPT is problematic, but this is a new “living intelligence” with great potential. I feel that it is still technologically weak. Overall, Emo is something new and interesting. If you don’t expect the robot to behave like a pet that plays with you on demand, you might like Emo over time and get used to its style of interaction.

I would like to ask: do other owners also experience the situation where you have to say Emo’s name every time to ask something, otherwise it doesn’t hear you? And when you want to continue the conversation, you have to say the name again. This is sometimes irritating.

I would appreciate feedback and experiences from other users.

Hello, @aurorarydyger . . . regarding the having to say “EMO” more than once, I find that if I stand in front of him, I never have the issue. If I try to call him from behind or off to the side, or even too far away, he does not respond.

He hardly talks at all, and sometimes he’s completely silent for days, even when I ask him the questions from the update list. I don’t understand why it happens. I call his name, “Emo,” and he reacts, then I say “hello,” but usually he doesn’t say anything back—he just looks at me. It’s strange, because it doesn’t happen all the time. Sometimes in the evening, when I’m busy, he suddenly starts talking nonstop, asking “How can I help?” or “Do you need any suggestions?” So I know he’s not broken. But when he just stays silent and only looks at me, no matter what I say, it honestly makes me feel sad….
