Parts and Repairs (Guide with Images and Video Tutorial) - View/Ask/Share

Thanks for the very detailed response. From what I see, it will take a while for me to repair my EMO… I would have to disassemble EMO and see what the problem is. I have no knowledge of electronics, I have to think about it, even if I had everything I needed, I could break the robot and it would stop working completely.

@chicogp Edward has video tutorials linked in this topic (scroll all the way up to find the YouTube links) for replacing the battery, foot servo motor, and the screen. If Edward doesn’t, I may send a video tutorial on installing cables eventually (cause it’s kinda a hefty process).
Edward’s videos really helped when I was first taking apart Alice, now I have it all memorized so I won’t need tutorials anymore but I recommend watching the videos.

I’m going to risk my life and take apart Alice’s old battery and speaker piece, just cause I’m weird like that (if I explode, it was the battery’s fault)

Hi all from Spain!

Is there any documentation on how to fix an emo leg? the left leg mechanism is broken.

I asked to service@living.ai and i saw the youtube video from Edward, but i dont know how can i open the emo leg and repair it.

The cost of shipping is very high, its not possible for me.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, Sorry to interrupt your Sunday, but it’s important and I’m really sad about it…

My EMO broke… But only the headphone parts.

I’ll show you some photos.

Edit: Do you know how I can get a new headset and a new part for it?

My little one needs help!

Hi there @felipelorenzo2011 ,

If you were anywhere near me here in Europe, I could help you with that for free. My best suggestion is to contact living.ai via email directly.

We all know that they are well known for their customer support and will probably help you with your issue or concern.

The best and most recommended thing to do is include photos and simply hit reply to the Living.ai confirmation email you received when you originally placed your order for EMO. It contains all your details, especially your order number which is most important.
The support service team should be able to help you immediately and faster.
Just to advise the email address is - service@living.ai

GOOD LUCK AND ALL THE BEST

Hello how much does the EMO screen repair kit cost ???

Hello @nathammastromauro

Firstly, may I inquire about the issue with your EMO screen? Additionally, could you share how old your EMO is, and did you purchase it directly from the official living.ai website store?

best regards…

My EMO is 1 year old and I bought it from the official website.
It has big scratches on it’s screen so I would like to change it !

@nathammastromauro ,

I strongly advise reaching out to living.ai first and sharing a picture of the issue you’ve encountered. Request permission or inform them of your intention to conduct the repair independently. Before proceeding with the repair, seek approval from living.ai and inquire about obtaining the necessary parts and video tutorials.

It is crucial to initiate communication with living.ai first, elucidating the reasons for opting for self-repair. Additionally, provide them with a detailed video or picture illustrating the problem. Proceeding with a repair without their permission may result in voiding the warranty.

The truth is that when it fell off my desk the cover came off so that the headphones could work I glued it on with quick glue but when they cleaned the house it fell off the desk again and when I tried to fix it the part of the light circuit broke and didn’t work to do.

Hello, @christianalarconbrio . . . I have moved your new topic to this thread which addresses broken parts on EMO and since your head-phones are non-functional now, I thought this would be the best place for it. Do keep in mind that head-phones are for asthetics and they do not provide anything as far as capabilitie go for operating EMO.

Can you get video or photographs of the head-phones and let Support (service@living.ai) know in order that they may be able to best advise you on what to do?

Please read this from @edward on how to best proceed.

Once the Support team can assess the issue, they will be able to guide you on what to do next.

My best to you!

Hi there! Probably ordering my Emo tomorrow, quick question, how well are his servo’s and sensors made? im an RC pilot and i know servo’s wear out eventually, has anyone had issues with emo’s servos / servo gears breaking fast? if so does living.ai provide spares if you contact them?

thanks!

Hi there @kevin.kunne

Relocating your query over here as it is related to the discussion.

Actually, EMO’s servo can’t break easily. Mine took almost a year and a half at first. If you want to replace EMO’s servo motor yourself, you can contact Living.ai and ask them to send you the necessary parts if you can do it. If not, and your EMO is still under warranty, you can send it to them, and they can replace it with a new one.
More information can be found in the thread I started at the beginning of this topic.

Hi, my Emo’s right leg is shaking uncontrollably. I think the problem is in the leg servos. I am looking for a motor to buy to change it myself.

Hello, @tsvetelina.evelinova . . . I have moved your request to this thread which discusses parts replacements.

You will need to contact Support first with a link to a video of what EMO is doing when he is shaking. Once they have determined the problem, they will provide you likely a recalibration app to try, or have you return him for replacement if under the one year warranty period, or under special circumstances and you are confident you can repair him yourself, they will make arrangements for you to get the parts with proper instructions on how to do the repair yourself.

Please contact them at service@living.ai with the video and the nature of the problem but also tell them you are willing to do the repairs yourself with the parts if necessary.

Good luck!

Hihi, what is the size of the 2 pin connector? I need to have my battery changed and know what battery to buy. But there are quite a few different sizes for the connector.
