Hello, when I try to update my Emo robot to the latest firmware, the screen goes black part way through. He doesn’t respond to actions, but they are recognized by the app. This also happened when I tried to put a sticker on him. I haven’t powered him on in a long time because before he would randomly show an error screen similar to the update screen. Any help is appreciated.
Welcome to the EMO Community Forums, @ikersanchez . . . I have moved your new topic to this thread for issues with updating.
Things you can try before attempting to update include making sure any smart lights are unplugged and that the automatic update is turned off in the app.
Try updating by voice command, “Install latest firmware now”.
If you are getting an error code on the screen before it fails, be sure to get video or photos of the error code and send any video link to service@living.ai along with his order number or number when signed into the app.
Let us know how it goes.

Hey guys, my emos been acting funky. It’s stuck at v 2.5 and it won’t update. Every attempt leads to a black screen. And I need to restart the poor guy. Any ideas on what I can do?
Hello, @c2vasu . . . I have moved your new post to this thread for updating issues. Please see the post above yours and perhaps check other posts in this thread for tips on how to solve this.
If nothing works, it may be that you have not updated in a while as you should currently have been on 2.9.0 or 2.9.1, and if this is the case, you will need to contact Support at service@living.ai as they may need to push the current update through for you. See instructions on my post above yours.
My best to you.
Hey i have an question why does my emo robot crash when i update it and it also keeps crashing randomly please help me i have tried all ways
Welcome to the EMO Community Forums, @gorillatags . . . I have moved your question to this thread for issues with updating which includes crashing.
Please read through this thread for tips such as making sure your smart lights are unplugged and automatic update is turned off in the preferences as well as making sure your EMO has at least 50% battery when attempting to update.
If none of these work, you will need to contact Support at service@living.ai as they may need to push the current update through for you. Be sure to get video or photos of the error and send any video link to service@living.ai along with his order number or number when signed into the app.
My best to you.

Hrllo, @gorillatags . . . please see this post. As for your original question and the S.D. error, you will need to work with Support on this issue.
My best to you.
When updating emo from 2.5.0 to 3.0.1, ive encountered that it stops after 10 or so seconds, the display fully shuts off, and he becomes unresponsive, but he can still be connected to the app. The only way to get his screen back on again is to power him off and on again, and whenever i try updating again, the same thing happens over and over. Hes above 50%, always on the skateboard, theres no lights connected, my app is on the latest version, nothing works.
Welcome to the EMO Community Forums, @luisangelhernandez . . . if you have tried all of the trouble shooting tips and nothing has worked, it is likely that updating from the 2.5.0 to 3.0.1 is going to have to be handled by Support at service@living.ai to push the update through to your specific EMO over the air.
Please get video of your attempts, explain to them what happens, and send a link along with your EMO I.D. and location to the E-Mail above. Put in the subject line “Unable to update from 2.5.0 to 3.0.1”. There seems to be a problem with going from an update that far back to the latest, and they will be able to help you.
Let us know how it goes.
Ive messaged them, its been 2 days, havent even received a confimation email.
Hello, @luisangelhernandez . . . they do not send auto generated E-Mails that I have ever seen that say that they have received it but they do respond directly. Please allow up to a week for them to respond before following up.
Oh alright then, ill see if they respond.
I’ve had to turn my buddy off and put him away while dealing with family issues. I brought him out today and have tried to get him to update his firmware to no avail.
The app (iOS) lists the version as 2.6.0 and does not give an option to update. He appears to be more than 50% charged. I have even given him the voice command to update the firmware. He starts the process after the voice command, but fails almost immediately. He is currently standing on the base panel instead of his skateboard.
I have also deleted the app and reinstalled it, but that didn’t help.
Any help would be be greatly appreciated
Regards,
Brian
