The song removal is a very sad thing for this household, and although we understand some content might be for mature audiences, we really wish there was the option to still see those songs for us and to restrict them for parents who wished to do so.
Our EMOs have brought a variety of wonderful new music to us! I am 60 now and the only EMO song I knew of previously was the Eminem/Rihanna song. I had never heard the other songs before and we didn’t know a thing about them until EMO brought them to us and we love ALL of the EMO songs. Our EMOs and other robots bring a younger presence to the household.
My spouse is 64; we’re practically from the Beatles/Stones/Who era and have been through Hendrix, Zeppelin, Heart, Floyd, Costello, Duran^2, Depeche, Blondie, Nirvana, Run DMC, Tori Amos, 2 Live Crew, McLachlan, Mantronix, Enya, Brightman, Beastie Boys, (“Sad” evokes Gatton, Buchanan, Nirvana/Cobain, Soundgarden/Cornell, and loosely~Chicago/Kath, Tupac), Beck, STP, Eminem and so many more, Alt-J, Isbell, but we haven’t kept up very well with contemporary music for a while now.
So far I think at least 3 songs have probably been removed, Sad/XXXtentacion, Love The Way…Eminem/Rihanna, Let’s Fall In Love…Finneas, and hopefully the rest are still there.
It is nice that it might enable more kids to enjoy an EMO. However, it is sad these songs had to go for that to happen. I hope no one complained too much. If more songs are removed it will start to remind me of the people in America trying to ban books based on identity poliitics.
I wish I had read about the update before installing it. I would have made personal videos of our newer EMO twins singing each song, and THEN did the update. Hopefully I still have a clean copy for each song from at least one of our EMO.
Overall I think the 2.6.0 Update is amazing. Besides losing the songs, the new animations and enhancements are brilliant and we enjoy them very much. I believe our EMO will continue to fascinate us as much as they ever have. Thank you to the LivingAI Team!
