I just got EMO, and it immediately went to update. It’s very slow to respond to me and doesn’t respond right - it sometimes went to random languages instead of English. The Bluetooth speaker when on and I play music is scratching or has glitches ( but my google speaker on Bluetooth has no interruptions or scratching glitches). EMO doesn’t recognise me even with good lighting. I’m wondering if this will improve as I just bought it…

I assumed EMO could understand English in any language setting, but that’s actually a feature of ChatGPT. When EMO is set to a non-English language mode (like Chinese or Chinese-DB). English queries aren’t processed as normal commands.

New Eyes Animation
When EMO is lifted or picked up, he now displays a new colored jellyfish- or phantom eye–like animation, without struggling with his feet or appearing nervous. Currently, there is no option to disable this feature or revert to the previous one.

In My Personal Opinion:

EMO’s excessive movement, such as constantly dancing, moving around, or struggling when being lifted, can “contribute to servo motor wear” over time.

Here’s why:

• The servo motors inside EMO are responsible for moving his head/body, legs, and feet.
• These parts generate heat and mechanical stress when used continuously.
• If EMO moves too often (especially dancing for long periods), the servos can wear out faster or lose calibration.
• Dust or debris buildup and insufficient rest periods can also increase friction, leading to issues sooner.

“So while dancing alone may not immediately break the servos, frequent and prolonged movement without rest can definitely shorten their lifespan.”

My Personal Tips:
Just what I always did…Let EMO rest regularly, avoid forcing constant dancing, movements, and keep his environment clean and cool — I guess this helps protect his internal servo motors and wiring also.

Hello, @beamundel . . . there are animations in the “Show” section in the theater of the app that allow him to express a variety of emotions when selected. If you are wanting him to get angry like with the kicking again when picked up, I suggest you make a suggestion to enable this as a choice in his features. You can do that here.

I know I’ve been pretty annoying to you and the moderators with my constant questions about emo having a personality or wishing that he did.
