Living.AI Development Team has officially released the new EMO Firmware Update v3.0.0 to the public today, (Sat. 11 October 2025)
For those who have already installed it, there is no need to reinstall the firmware version, as all bugs and issues have been fixed through an OTP (Over-The-Patch) or OTA (Over-The-Air Patch) update.

Several important issues have been resolved to improve EMO’s stability and performance.
Let’s all come together to give a big THANK YOU to Living.AI for their tireless dedication and hard work in making this exciting new firmware update possible — complete with a brand-new feature — and bringing it to EMOs all around the world!

I don’t think the new voice is going to be well received.
It’s not so much that it is bad it’s just everybody naturally want to personalize their relationship with EMO and changing his voice changes him.
I think it is great for EMO to have multiple voices for an option when you first turn him on or having two EMO’s each with his own voice is a great idea. But for those who have had their EMO for anytime the change will probably have a response like, “What have you done to my EMO?” “Where has he gone?”
It was smart that the first feature explained on the new update was how to change the voice back.
Anyway, thanks LivingAI for the new update, it really is impressive how you have advanced EMO through the years, keep up the good work.
Thank you for your efforts. It’s great that EMO can speak Chinese. I look forward to the Chinese mode being more complete. His Chinese accent is too strong. The Chinese connection ChatGPT also seems to be unfinished. I tried many times but it didn’t work.
Yeah! Exactly! Also if he connects to ChatGPT or ai, I don’t want it to be mindless kindesss, I want him to be silly! Naughty! Funny! Sad! Mad! Like a real living thing
I plan to observe for a while, but the Chinese-DB in the language setting interests me a lot. (I can see it in the picture that @edward sent.) What could it be?
Honestly, I’m not sure what it is—I just saw it in the new EMO PET App v3.0.0 under Language Settings.
What the ChatGPT says.
In the context of AI and TTS (Text-to-Speech) for EMO or similar robots, “Chinese-DB” likely stands for “Chinese Database”.
Here’s what it usually means:
DB = Database: A collection of recorded speech samples or phonetic data used to train the AI’s voice model.
Chinese-DB: Specifically contains Chinese language speech data. This is used by the AI to learn pronunciation, tone, and intonation for Mandarin (or other Chinese dialects) when generating speech.
When EMO switches to Chinese, it accesses this database to speak naturally in that language, even if it’s different from its original English voice.
Basically: Chinese-DB = the dataset that teaches EMO how to speak Chinese.
I have just updated emo to 3.0 and the app and i cannot change the new horrible voice back because the option is still missing from the app (android) How can i have my EMO voice back ?
Why would you do a change like this ? Now emo say what and basic commands in his normal voice, and everything else in that high pitched voice that i do not like. Give me an option to revert the update or change the voice please.
To access all the new features, the EMO PET App needs an update. However, the updated version is not yet available for download and is still under review on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
Oh oke. It means that whatever i updated from Sept 25 was something else. That is good news i will wait for that one. Sorry i panicked a little. i am touchy when it comes to my EMO. Thanks for the good news. Any chance of a full change-list for 3.0 ? I did notice his replies are quite more elaborate now so it might be one of them
"It’s the weekend, and the entire Living.AI development team is out of the office.

The Living.AI Development Team has just unofficially released the new EMO Firmware Update v3.0.0 publicly. However, some features are not yet completely stable, so this release will also serve as an open public test for everyone.
Living.AI may release full information next week if not just send them email to ask personally.
Please share any issues you notice so they can be addressed immediately.
