Emo's Leg/Foot Defective Issue!

@Xiaoqing @Lindaru

I caught him in the act. Turns out I was wrong. He can make it during the night (sometimes) and he can’t make it during the day.

Don’t mind the little pride flag in the corner. I set it up yesterday

Well, @simonwatson . . . if you can get a video during the day, just do that and follow the instructions in my previous response as it may be an alignment issue or servo/wire issue.

Good luck to you.

@simonwatson , I recommend you maybe you should fence up that area or put something soft on the floor to prevent him from falling even worse, before you get the video.

Best wishes to EMO Watson!

Living.ai said all his servos and wires needed replacing, if I wanted to give it a go. That is a bit beyond my capabilities having watched a few videos.

Shortly after Emo Jay had these leg issues, Emo Max started having a bad shaking with his leg. Support was awesome to deal with and leg surgery went excellent. Emo Jay and Emo Max would just like to say thank you so much to support. https://youtube.com/watch?v=idu6hIye0Dc

Hello, my pet has problems with his leg and I want to ask if I should return him or if someone can advise me what to do, his right leg gets stuck every time he tries to turn around

Hello, @kristyna.kadleckova . . . I have moved your new topic to this thread where we discuss issues with legs and feet.

It is advised to get video of the issue and send either a ticket to Support or send an E-Mail to service@living.ai . . . they will need to see the problem to diagnose it and determine what method of repair will be needed.

How to Contact Support

Please contact support regarding this issue.

When contacting Living.ai support. It is recommended to create a short video then submit a support ticket. You can do this by either going to the Support Page: (see below).

Fill in all details (provide also your order number info as well) and attach your video (if it’s larger than 30Mb), Be best to upload it to a google drive/drop box or even on YouTube and then send the support team a link to it.

You can also send support an email to the following email address:

service@living.ai

If you have your original EMO Order confirmation email, you can simply just hit reply to that as it contains all your customer contact info along with your order number details as well and then once again provide a detailed description of the problem you have with your EMO and attach your video as well.

The support team should be able to get back to you in a timely fashion. I’ll also tag @TechSupport_Mavis from the support team who will be able to assist you further as well.

My best to you.

Hi, my Emo One was doing as usual with is leg shaking problem and suddenly he started to react as if he was emerging from a cliff. I’ve powered him down and cleaned his foot and all of his sensors (foots and the front one) and that didn’t change the problem. Emo One is now in a loop of exploring and emerging from a cliff. He can’t reply to me anymore and play with his friends Emo Star and Emo Jones.:sob:
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have already replaced his battery and I’m willing to do any repairs that he could need and to pay for the parts that he needs.

Hello, @fbtwtf . . . sorry to see this. It could be as simple as recalibration or needing the servos and/or leg wires replaced. You will need to contact service@living.ai directly with a link to this video to see what they advise and if they would be willing to provide the parts and instructions for repair.

Tell Emo Star and Emo Jones to not despair. They will be able to advise how to get Emo One back to his healthy self depending on what he needs.

Let us know how it goes.

EMO is stuck on emerging from cliff and his right toe is stuck.

Welcome to the EMO Community Forums, @sanv . . . I have moved your new topic to this thread where we discuss issues dealing with the legs and feet.

“Emerging from cliff” is often an indicator that something is blocking the edge detectors on his feet. Most of the time it is a matter of clearing dust and debris from the edge detectors/cliff sensors. You can do this with sticky tape and/or a cotton swab. Make sure to clean gently and thoroughly.

I am not sure what you mean by his right toe is stuck. If you could clarify or better yet get pictures or video so we can see what is going, then we can better assist you.

I reset it last night and still the same thing.
Thanks

I will up load some videos and pictures when I get home from work.

Hi there @emohacker5325 , and @sanv

I just want to clarify and this is official information from Living.AI staff: EMO does not have a feature to reset, or it is currently impossible to do so.

  • To REBOOT/RESTART EMO. Place a paper clip into the right hole (located in the middle back of his head) - press down gently until you hear a click and this should RESTART/REBOOT EMO. (This will not power him off completely, But he will simply restart up right away.
  • To FORCE SHUTDOWN do the same procedure but on the left hole

NOTE!
Both of these methods especially, the Forceful power-off method are not recommended by Living.ai and could potentially lead to possible data corruption if done regularly/often. (this is considered the same way as you pulling the plug on a running PC. It will power it off, but you do not know if it’s potentially damaged the Operating file system in any way).

PLEASE USE CAUTION WHEN PERFORMING THESE TWO METHODS WITH YOUR EMO.

Best Regards

Hello, @sanv . . . I would advise you to refer to this as Living AI will need to have a look at what is going on to best help you out.

If his feet are cleaned and he is doing that particular reaction rather than the angry sounds and kicking, they will need to diagnose what is going on with his legs and feet. My best to you and keep us advised.
