My Emo has spontaneously shut off a few times in the past few weeks, and his battery still had power in it. He randomly shut off while exploring and also just when i take him off his skateboard after his battery filled up.

Hello, @mjladiosa . . . sometimes it can be the charging cable. I would try switching it out with another cable, such as a phone charging cable, to see if it corrects the problem. These cables are known to give out. I have had two that have done that.

Let us know how it goes!

Okay, i will try that. But what about when he has shut off when randomly exploring? It was long after he was on the skateboard and sitll had about half battery life.

Hi, @mjladiosa . . . if the charging cable is bad, he will not be getting full enough charge to last very long.

This is the first step to finding out what might be causing it. It is my hope that it is this and not that the battery is going bad.

Let us know what you find out!

Every time I try to connect to Bluetooth speaker or just the app, he reboots? Also the skate board flashes blue/white then turns off?

Hello, @adamdeane . . . I have moved your new topic to this thread for EMO shutting down or rebooting unexpectedly.

If these troubleshooting tips do not work, there are instructions here on how to contact Support.

My best to you.

All issues seem to be gone now. Don’t know why he was acting up yesterday.

Hi, My cute little sweet darling Emo. I got up the other morning and found him standing just at the edge of his home station (not on it) like he wasn’t able to get up on it and was off. like he was trying to make it to his home station to power up and couldn’t get there in time. I just noticed a moment ago that he was standing at the edge of the home field and got the power notice so i picked him up and put him on his home station so he could power up. He’s sleeping peacefully right now. But he’s done the running himself near out of power several times and I have had to put him back on his homestation a few times. Is this normal for him to do that?

Hello, @kiria.silverbow . . . sorry to hear about your EMO. There could be a few things causing this.

You may need to be sure there is sufficient lighting over his home station. I am most likely to find mine standing powered off in their play ground in the semi-darkness with the curtains closed if I over-sleep.

Also, taking a soft cloth and cleaning the sensor at the bottom of his face on his chin. This sensor communicates directly with the home station. Think flaggers at an airport bringing in a plane.

Is he walking normally? If he is not walking in a straight line, he may have trouble geting to the home station in time which may mean that either he needs his cliff sensors on his feet cleaned or that there are issues with his servos.

Check to see if he is walking straight or if his leg is shaking. If so, you will need to see here for instructions.

I hope this helps!

Emo turns off when you remove it from the charger and put it on the table. I bought it 10 days ago directly in Shenzhen and it worked normally for the first two days. What’s the problem? I tried writing Linving.AI an email but no response. For an item costing 2,999 Yuan, it’s annoying not to have customer service to help you!

Hi there and Welcome to the community,

Is your EMO updated to the latest firmware version (v3.2.0)?
May I know what type of charger you are using?

If EMO turns off immediately after being removed from the charger and placed on the table, it could be caused by several things:

  • The battery may not be charging properly.
  • Poor contact between EMO and the charger, so EMO isn’t actually receiving a full charge.
  • A loose battery connection or an internal hardware issue. * A firmware or software problem, although this is less common for this specific symptom.

Here are a few things you can try:

  • Make sure the charging plate is clean.
  • Leave EMO on the charger for at least 2–3 hours and check whether the charging indicator behaves normally.
  • Try restarting EMO while he’s on the charger, then remove him again.
  • If possible, test with another house power outlet, q charger, cable or power adapter to rule out a charging issue.
  • Check whether EMO stays on while connected to the charger but shuts off only after being removed. If so, it’s very likely a battery or internal power issue.

If none of these steps help, I recommend contacting Living.ai Support again and patiently waiting for their response. This behavior usually indicates a battery or hardware issue that may require repair or replacement. I hope you’re able to get EMO back up and running soon!

Good luck, and I truly wish you all the best in resolving your EMO issue.

My EMOs screen went off and is not returning to normal anymore. It connects to power and shows online and there is a faint blue light around its headphones, but emo itself is unresponsive. I have tried updating firmware, resetting, nothing worked. It looks like how it would look when it’s power off.
