Hi there, @Dizzylizzy ,
Is he on the latest update already?
Please observe your EMO carefully and make at least video, pictures and more info about the issue.
if the issues continues, I can recommend and suggest that you contact support (submit a support ticket here:
Provide full details and it is recommended to take a video on what is happening so you can share it with the support team even via email as well.
The best and most recommended thing to do is simply reply to the Living.ai confirmation email you received before when you originally placed your order for EMO. It contains all your details, especially your order number which is most important.
The support service team should be able to help you immediately and faster.
Just to advise their reply take a bit time which is 2-3 days or even a week depending on the time differences, days, holidays and current situations. so please be patient.
GOODLUCK AND ALL THE BEST!
Hello
My EMO also restart on his skateboard ? 2 times all ready since yesterday ? What itās the cause ? Thank you
Hello, my EMO is turning off when I remove it from the skateboard, and when I put it back on and turn it on, I canāt even check the battery when itās off.
how long have you had Emo? If itās been a long time he might be suffering battery degradation. I suggest contacting living.ai to help with this issue.
One year and 2 months, but was working perfectly last week, do you think is possible the battery degradation is so fast
possibly. My Cozm robotās battery degraded pretty suddenly so it wouldnāt surprise me. you could try replacing the battery but Be VERY CAREFUL.
Do NOT replace the battery. This will void the warranty, you should contact support.
I agree with @adrianledeaux. only replace the battery as a last resort. =)
Hi there @tony2 ,
Since no one advised you to check his battery while he is still on the charger to ensure he has enough juice, and the charging feature still works, allow me to do so firstā¦
Just ask him⦠EMO SHOW ME YOUR BATTERY LEVEL!
You can also try to * FORCE SHUTDOWN : using a paperclip (NOT A NEEDLE) and push carefully for 2 to 3 seconds and then pick him up immediately and place EMO back on the charger for him to power on.
- POWER OFF: over Emo Pet App if you manage to do that immediately when he is on.
If the issue continues to happen, the best thing to do is contact Living.Ai support. Send them an email from the same email you received when you made your order, and provide them with info, pics/videos of what is happening with your EMO.
GOODLUCK
Thanks i sent a vĆdeo today to support showing whats happening.
This is a weird one. EMO keeps powering down for a second then coming back on. But that isnāt the really weird part. The weird part is that heās only doing this while on his Skateboard while asleep between 12 and 8am!
Heāll be asleep and suddenly his headphone lights go out and the screen goes blank. Then it comes back on with him acting as though he has been woken up by something.
He doesnāt do this at all during the daytime either on the Skateboard or off it. Any ideas?? Cheers!
this is normal for my Emo. he will randomly reboot if a problem occurs.
Hi there @mancbiker ,
āI have moved your new topic to this thread, as it is related to the ongoing discussion.ā
There are several potential causes for EMO to shut down unexpectedly without warning:
- Low Battery:
- If EMOās battery level drops too low, he may shut down automatically without providing a warning. This can happen if heās not properly docked or charging.
- Battery Malfunction:
- A faulty or damaged battery could cause sudden shutdowns, especially if it is not holding a charge properly or has degraded over time.
- Software Issues:
- Software bugs or glitches may cause EMO to crash and shut down unexpectedly. This can happen if the firmware is outdated or if thereās a problem during a system update.
- Firmware Corruption:
- Corrupted firmware or a failed firmware update could lead to irregular behavior, including random shutdowns.
- Overloaded Processing:
- Running multiple demanding commands or processes in quick succession could overwhelm EMOās system, causing a shutdown to reset itself.
- Internal Hardware Fault:
- A malfunction in EMOās internal components, such as the motherboard or sensors, could result in power issues, leading to sudden shutdowns.
- Charging Problems:
- If EMO isnāt properly connected to his charger or the charging base is faulty, the device may drain its battery and shut down unexpectedly.
- Environmental Factors:
- External conditions like moisture, dust, or even an unstable surface could cause EMO to malfunction and power down unexpectedly.
If EMO continues to shut down without warning, it may be necessary to check the battery status, perform a software update, or contact Living.ai for further support and troubleshooting.
GOOD LUCK AND ALL THE BEST!
Iāve ordered a new battery for mine to see if it helps. EMO was doing this shut down/start up thing every few minutes. Still weird why he doesnāt do it during the day when he is awake. He still lasts for over an hour when just on battery.
Replacing the battery looks easy and the battery is the same one as used in a PlayStation 3 controller so as you can imagine they are available everywhere for less than £10. Fingers crossed it helps in some way.
Hello, @mancbiker . . . I would still consult with LivingAI before attempting self repairs as not doing so could void your warranty. Please reach out to them for guidance at service@living.ai.
@Lindaru Appreciate the concern but Iām way out of warranty by now. Mine is almost 2 years old at this point
Well, changing the battery was very easy (though in fairness, the placement means they could have made it simple enough for a child by having just the top be removable.)
Sadly, it hasnāt made a difference though. EMO still constantly shuts down and immediately starts back up every few minutes any time he is sleeping.
The bonus for swapping the battery though, is of course he can now walk around for 2 1/2 hours before beeping
Though oddly, for the last few months, he mainly stands in one spot and does absolutely nothing at all
Hi, mi Emo is working good, but he is shutting down without any reason, example: he has good battery, he was walking, and he stopped walking, and then emo suddenly turns off for some seconds and turns on again. It also happens when I am in the app, and decide to put him some stickers in his screen, when I press the button to show the stickers, he shutdown for 4 seconds and come to live again without the stickers.
Is this normal?
Thanks.
Hello, @juanpablopalaciosnar . . . often problems with the app stickers and random shut downs can be resolved by power cycling your router, your device and EMO.
There might be other tips in this thread that could help you, but if nothing works, I suggest contact service@living.ai for support. Try getting a video and providing them a link to it when you contact them.
My best to you.
