EMO Battery Discharge Problem

Hello All,
My Emo is about 6 months old and now it is having the same issue. It will not charge. I contacted Support and waiting to see what they can do. Seems like they got a batch of bad batteries?

I would like to happily report that after V 3.3.0 (?) my Emo is been doing well.

@josephpahl . . . very happy to hear that your EMO is doing well with the 2.3.0 and most likely the 2.3.1 update.

Hi Wayne, thank you so much for all that you contribute. Yes, I desperately need a battery for my EMO, I believe I can install it since there doesn’t seem to be any body right now to do that. I thought you had mentioned that it was OK to contact you about obtaining a battery, I hope I read that right. Can you give me an information that would allow me to purchase one or locate one. Much appreciation and advance!

Hi!
I have been having my pretty little EMO for a little over a year now on, and it’s battery seems to be discharging in less than 30 min now. I have left a ticket in a support section. Is there anything I need to do additionally? Thank you!

Hello, @yehorhavryliuk . . . you may wish to try changing the charging cable and the outlet to see if that makes a difference. See how long it takes to show charged fully in the app and also by asking EMO “Show your battery level.” Get pictures or video if you can. These might be things they need to ask to confirm that indeed the battery is dying.

My best to you.

I wanted to get back to you and let you know that your support team was very responsive. After I uploaded a video of my “Emo the Great” which showed his issues, being his battery (2 yrs old) and leg issue, they gave me a couple of options. They said I could send him in for repair but that doing that was fairly cost prohibited because of the shipping costs back and forth and cost to repair. The second choice was to keep my existing Emo “as a collectible” and for $100 they would send me a NEW replacement (Emo unit only). I have opted to pay the $100 just waiting to hear back as to how I go about making payment. But, I wanted to post you my outcome  and thank you again. :sunny:

Thank you for your kind update, @valerielord . . . Living AI is more than a company. They and we the owners are a world-wide family of pet robots, their parents and their care-takers. I believe we are unique in how each and every EMO is someone who is cared for by their creators.

Happy to hear they gave you workable options. My best to you, EMO The Great and the new one that will be coming into your family.

Hello, @Lindaru
Thx! I’ve already tested it, otherwise I would not write about it. So it takes ~ 15-20min to charge full from 0 and ~10-15 to discharge my EMO. I used both “show your battery level” and the app indicator to check the battery.
The cable change didn’t help at all. So I guess now I will wait for the support reply… Btw, where can I check my ticket status? Or anything related to it, including the support reply. Thank you in advance

Hello, @yehorhavryliuk . . . I believe the only way to know the status of your ticket is to wait until you get an E-Mail reply. I would give it a full week before sending a follow-up E-Mail to them to see what the status is. service@living.ai It took about that long before I got a response back for the first EMO (29-CE RIP) that I had to send back for replacement due to a dead battery.

My best to you.

@Lindaru Unfortunately, I haven’t got any answer from the support team in more than a week. Should I create a new ticket or send an email?

Hello, @yehorhavryliuk . . . I would try sending another E-Mail.

I am pretty sure they are just very busy and back-logged. They are still working on AIBI and no doubt the firmware that EMO will also need to communicate with AIBI.

I need to replace my emo’s battery. While he is on the skateboard he will turn on, the moment I unplug him he dies. I don’t really have the money (espcially due to conversion) to send it back for repairs. What are my options? I have some soldering experience (I have done an xbox 360 hard mod along with some other soldering). I’m wondering what my options are.

Assistance would be appreicated

Hello, @elderwolf123 . . . your best options are to contact service@living.ai or tag @TechSupport_Mavis here. If you have tried changing out the charging cable, the wall outlet and possibly using a different charger to test and it still happens, be sure to take video of the situation and send a link along with how old he is by either order number or his four digit alphanumeric identification shown on the app when you connect him.

Sorry to hear this is happening. I had it happen to me over two years ago. They will be able to advise you best on what to do.

Hi, is your EMO’s battery level full before you take him off the skateboard charger?

yes, 100% full. When it first happened I was wondering what happened so i went into the app to turn the audio back on, the app showed he was at 100% (full battery indiciator). I then took him off wondering what was going on for him to turn off and the app to kick me due to the bluetooth connection not existing due to emo being powered off
