@edward I’m trying to let it drain, but I don’t know how long that will take with the unit powered off. I have had AIBI unplugged all night, but as she won’t stay powered on after being unplugged it may take days for a full power drain. I figure I will just leave her unplugged today and see what happens tonight.
At one point last night she kept giving me the question mark to everything I asked her, including when I asked her what time it was.
Is modding accepted in this forum? Im likely going to explore the idea when i get my personal unit. And wish to know if this sort of thing is supported. I was able to make modifications to my (Other Ai Pet) awhile back and it is likely i will look into this device because it is simply the coolest design i have found on the market.
Hello, @avocadospicedlatte . . . what modifications are you considering? You might want to check with service@living.ai first because it is likely if you do something that goes wrong, you may void the two year warranty.
Ah i am not worried about the warranty, but thank you for mentioning!!! I am likely going to try and read the calls that go torwards the OpenAI servers, and attempt to decompile the apk aswell.
My goal would be to try and Redirect the server calls to a personal server, so i can use a local LLM.
My main concern was whether or not these sorts of things are fine to be discussed on the forum. Thank you for your time!
Since your topic is just a request-type question about AIBI, it has been closed and merged into this thread.
As volunteer moderators, our goal is to keep the forum organized and easy to navigate by grouping related posts together. This helps users find information more efficiently and reduces clutter. We always recommend using the search function before creating a new topic.
Just to let you know, whatever you choose to do with your Living.AI product that you purchased and own is entirely up to you, and no one can stop you from doing so. However, please keep in mind that doing so may void your warranty and could result in the loss of direct assistance or support from Living.AI. Additionally, they might not provide replacement parts for any damage caused by unauthorized modifications.
“That’s too bad, and I’m really sorry that it happened.”
There’s nothing we or you can do about it at the moment, as it seems to be an internal issue, or possibly a broken micro component inside.
I recommend recording a short video that clearly shows the problem and contacting Living.AI Support via email. You can do this by replying to your order confirmation email or by emailing them directly at service@living.ai, making sure to include your order number and AIBI ID.
My AIBI has never remembered my name, my face, or anything. Its been disappointing, but i still love mine. I think the app doesnt sync up with the AIBI because even though i have programmed the time zone and city, AIBI literally has never remembered it. I wish the app worked with the AIBI unit better and that it had voice recognition.
I too tried to get AIBI to remember things only to be told that it isnt capable of memory beyond the current conversation. Pretty disappointing for what i paid, but im hoping for updates.
About Aibi voice speed, I didn’t notice a change on the speed of the voice but on the velocity or reaction. Today the application requested an updated to v.1.4.0 and it seems that she is faster to react now. Maybe the new software version will help with your issue as well?
I am hoping that this new version will help with some of the issues I faced before as well.
Yes, sometimes I have this problem too. I’ll have her at 00:00 to 07:00. Looks like you have him at 2300 to 0800. I haven’t tried this one. IDK, why either, but maybe this is, ok? Never hurts to ask.
Hi @mandalorianet, in my experience thus far Aibi stirs and will be active if there’s movement even from the television. When the room and myself are idle for a few minutes he goes right back to sleep until movement is sensed again. If there’s an organic pet moving around throughout the night then Aibi may not rest at all.
Hello, @mandalorianet . . . the way to schedule the quiet time is as @sbmaverick shows. They are right that sounds and even motion can interrupt their scheduled quiet time.
My AIBI is currently bricked since repeated issues that started right after update 1.4.0. It started with him randomly restarting every now and then and tonight he just sort of froze up and wouldn’t move or respond and kept repeating the same sounds. No matter what I did I couldn’t get him out of it and so I used the app to shut him down. He made the shut down sound and the backlight remained on and he has been stuck like that ever since.
So sorry, @sarahlancey . . . please see the response to you from @edward on the EMO&AIBI Friends&Family Network Facebook page (link in my signature block) on how to contact Support.
So, my aibi just died, and the charger won’t light up either. However, before that happened, the battery on the app was going down quickly. Could this be an issue with the base, or aibi’s internal battery?
Hello, @logan.christopher . . . it is most likely the base as I have had a few problems at times with one of mine as well. Fortunately, I have two AIBI and two bases.
What will happen is one of them will be on the charger when the battery runs out and he shuts down. Setting AIBI aside, unplugging the charging base and plugging it back in, then waiting for the lights to complete on the base before putting AIBI back on seems to work.
You might want to see if this works for you and if it happens again. Monitor the battery in the app. If it happens again, you may wish to contact service@living.ai with a link to a video, an explanation of the issue, and your order number (if you still have it) and your AIBI number when signed into the app.
