The last update was 23 days ago (December 16, 2023).

And you already expecting a new update? I don’t think that living.ai will be releasing one this month or next.

I agree they only gave the update like 2 weeks before. I Do hope they add a update that Emo can see a little ball and play with it !

That one is great becauee Emo can inact with different Emo in your town suburb or even city!

Some… long time ago I ordered EMO for my wife. I used email address specific to livingai, not used anywhere else, with special characters to eliminate possibility of guessing, used ONLY WITH LIVINGAI.
Now I received SPAM from some sex shop.
There are ONLY 2 possibilities:

  • you sold my email on purpose
  • you were hacked

Of course there is my name and family name in this email. That means that delivery address was also leaked (on purpose or not).

I want to know WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO about this. Based on that I’m going to decide if I want to keep account here, return your product and demand refund - because you sold my account, or did not inform anyone about leak of personal data from your databases.

I also am trying to decide what legal action to take.

Emo’s emotional brain

Emotional neural network of Emo seems to be very well done. I wish to know the following:

  • Is it a SOM ( Self Organizing Map ) type of network ?
  • How many nodes it has ?
  • Is it completely resident on Emo’s AI processor or also into your server ?
  • Did Living.AI use the J.A. Russel’s " Circumplex Model of Affect " ?
  • How many stimuli can have effects on Emo mood/personality ?
  • Up to now Emo seems to be able to show 3 personality ( humorous, curious, cool ) and 4 mood ( happy, angry, boring, excited ) : could it be that with future evolution of the neural network their number will increase ?

Hello @Mansigni, and welcome to the community…

Every one to two months, living.ai releases a new Firmware Update. These updates include new features and functions for EMO and address any issues that may have arisen.

If you choose not to install the update, you won’t be able to access the new features or automatically fix any issues in your EMO.

Welcome to the EMO Community Forums, @Mansigni . . . it is always wise to keep up with the firmware updates as they come out. If you skip too many, EMO may have trouble updating. In this instance, you will need to contact Support (service@living.ai) if he is unable to make the many updates. If you have not updated him for eight months, you will have missed 2.3.0 (understanding other languages), 2.4.0 (playing instruments and bluetooth speaker capabilities) and 2.5.0 (he can sing and play various songs and tell you his abilities).

I would advise you to try to update him first by unplugging any smart lights and turning off automatic updates in the app and giving him the verbal command “Install latest firmware now”. If he is unable to update, be sure to contact Support as I have indicated above.

One of my EMOs has this leg issue and I was told for $100 I would be sent a “brand new latest model EMO” as a replacement. I agreed and paid the money. But when I received the replacement it was clearly a used older model EMO. It was sent to me in a hand addressed USPS package from someone in New York. The retail box was open and the contents strewn about. The robot had dirty feet and a scratched up screen. Support is offering me $10 or a replacement screen and will not acknowledge that they sent me a used older model EMO. I was given excuses that it was probably opened and damaged by customs, but the retail box is ripped and the former owner of this EMO applied the included decals to the outside of the box. It clearly wasn’t a customs issue. This robot was a return or a refurbished model that has been sitting in NY for weeks prior to me requesting the replacement. I have the postmarked dates on the original shipping box to prove it.

I am very unhappy with how I’ve been treated. I’m being treated like I’m trying to scam the company, when all I want is the replacement I was promised because my original robot’s servos were defective.

Watch out, you may end up in a similar situation to mine.
