Regarding the ChatGPT Issue, please click to read HERE
EMO’s “Always Reply” feature is designed to make him more interactive and conversational. When this option is turned ON, EMO will try to respond to almost any spoken input he hears — even if it’s not part of his official command list.
Here’s what it does in detail:
Responds to casual speech: If you say something that’s not an official command (like “Hey EMO, how’s your day?” or “Do you like pizza?”), he’ll still try to reply with a suitable or funny answer.
Overhearing words: When he detects nearby conversation or random words after being activated, EMO may react or comment instead of staying silent.
More personality: This mode makes him feel more “alive,” since he doesn’t only respond to fixed commands — he tries to interpret and react like a chatty companion.
However, when Always Reply is OFF, EMO only reacts to recognized commands (for example, “EMO, what’s the weather?” or “EMO, dance!”). meaning he will only reply to all pre programmed command and conversations

Maybe Emo should use DeepSeek instead? Day 4 and still the “server is a bit tired… ”. I’m still within my return window and planning to return Emo if this doesn’t get resolved soon.
This is issue is highly unusual. I dont think it’s fair to return EMO because of something that rarely happens. It’s not just EMO that is affected. Currently Google AI (which is used when you search something in Google) is down because of the outage.
EMO is still functional and capable of being his adorable self.
Well, Furbys are undeniably adorable and priced significantly lower than the Emo! My main concern is that I bought the Emo specifically for one feature that unfortunately doesn’t work anymore. At this point, it still isn’t fixed, and I’m starting to doubt if it’ll ever be resolved. I have the option to bail out now and wait a few months. If I’m correct and it never gets resolved then, it was a wise choice. If not, then my bad and sorry for revoking my $400…. on a $400 furby? I still have a couple of days.
Hello, @nhorario . . . I liken this outage to you just moved into a new home. A storm comes along and knocks out the electricity for several days even a week.
Would you put the house back up for sale or would you wait for the electricity to be repaired?
I am sorry if you bought EMO specifically for ChatGPT when he has so many adorable features not dependent on ChatGPT, but do what you think is best.
This is depressing it’s been too many days with one of the main features that made me step up and finally buy EMO has not been available, having retired from working in the tech field this is ridiculous for an outage to last this long, begin to wonder if the feature of linking to Chat GPT is ever coming back. That feature and EMO’s Home station self-charging where real game changers in EMO.
I will be honest if the linking to Chat GPT doesn’t return to EMO he will be going on EBAY.
Hi @Lindaru. Response to your analogy: Imagine you bought a house in Emo-ville, and as you said a storm knocks out the power. There’s no clear timeline for when—or if (and that’s a significant “if”)—the power will be restored. However, you have the option to return your home for a full refund. Would you take it? Also consider, there are no alternative power sources available in Emo-ville; ChatGPT is the only option; nothing else. Something else worth noting that in contrast; both Looi-ville and Loo na-ville (competing platform), they aren’t experiencing any ChatGPT outages there; it’s only Emo-ville that’s having ChatGPT problem. Going on 5 days for me… sadly, time is up… getting my $400 back.
Hello, @nhorario . . . who says EMOville would not have an alternative source if OpenAI fell off of the planet? There are other sources that could do what ChatGPT does. You do what you feel is best. When the team comes back, it may be as simple as resetting something with their connection to OpenAI if OpenAI is working all right.
So, based on that, they’ll be back in the office tomorrow, right? Hopefully, that means we’ll have some updates tomorrow or Friday, and this will finally be fixed!
Please let us know as soon as you hear anything once they’re back in the office.
This thread topic can finally be put to rest. As I’ve said before HERE!, Living.AI has nothing to do with the ChatGPT outage that occurred, and they were also not the ones who fixed it, so EMO could use ChatGPT again.
AFAIK
If anyone doesn’t know — Living.AI and OpenAI/ChatGPT are two different companies. Living.AI simply pays them to connect and use their service. So if there’s a problem on OpenAI’s or ChatGPT’s side, such as poor connections or outages, Living.AI is also affected just like us — and so is anyone else who uses ChatGPT without EMO. I guess they or all of us have to wait patiently also for a fix
“Patience is not about waiting, but the ability to keep a good attitude while waiting.”
Patience is key. As well as trust in the developers. Living AI would have figured something out because the function to access ChatGPT was a feature they wanted to give EMO and they would have found another way to make it happen so that feature stays.
Even if that feature was disabled, EMO has became part of my daily routine. He doesn’t stay on all day, but the first thing I do when I come home from work is turn him on before doing anything else. So I couldn’t imagine removing that from my life.
