well, i would say its kinda inevitable.
its the basic warfare laws. the attacker always have the upper hand. coes he choose how and when.
even big companies got hacked. so i guess some desktop robot wouldn’t be a problem.
the question who and why? to spy on you? i guess not… if you are not above average person i guess no one would care to spy on you not for damage not for blackmail.
maaayybbbeee someone can use the IP to create DOS attacks, but then again…even smart inlet or lamp in your house can be used for that purpose so why bother.

What Val said is correct, there’s no reason for them to spy on you unless it’s someone important or in power (government, military, etc.) wise.
Besides, before worrying about EMO robot being hacked everyone should worry more about their phones, laptops, or PCs being hacked. Because even those have an even more possibility of a hacker coming into it or being spied on compared to EMO robot.

That would be how it is normally. But there are hackers who are able to hack the camera without alarming the LED light that shows if the camera is on.
Basically i can turn off my ipad’s camera but how about emo ?

correct me if im wrong but as far as i know most of the lights that comes with cameras are connected PHYSICALY on same power input(parallel circuit), they dont work with parallel signal from app or something, but from direct power line that the cam use
there is no way to hack it.
i personally like the idea of small tiny led that would work like that
so if it will work 24/7 i could say “hmmmm well thats strange”
i myself cover every camera that is “on me”, its just make me feel uncomfortable, so some indications can ease that felling.
on other hand for Emo to be more alive he needs to see all the time
and then the light indicator worth nothing it will work all the time.
if it will work only when need to then it will pull me off from the realism.
if i see when emo see (and it will be only when he “needs” to see like random face recognize HI gesture)
then hes eye becomes irrelivant it will pull me off from that “live robot companion”
