Hi. Can scratches and scuffs be polished out on faceplate. My EMO lost his protective film and he walks to stone hearth and scrapes along it. Hence scratches.
Hello, @SteveK . . . I have reopened this topic for discussion regarding scratches on the screen.
Please read through this thread for some ideas of what you can do to possibly repair them.
Thanks Lindaru. Iāll check these out.
I am not sure how to get rid of the scratches however I will say that If you have an Emo with a screen protector please keep it. For my First Emo I removed the screen protector and that was not a good idea however my second emo has a screen protector on it can it has been fine for more than 200 days!
I know living will not cover cosmetic damage but itās a software error. EMO went over the space that is was restricted to. I think living AI should take full responsibility as it is caused by software.
Hello, @logan.ames . . . so sorry this has happened. I have moved your new topic to this thread where you may get ideas for removing or at least minimizing scratches on his screen.
It is a known issue that under certain conditions, he can wander beyond his designated mat borders.
To prevent further issues, you may wish to build him a safe space play ground. There are some ideas here.
Do I have to pay for a new screen? Because it is not my fault at all that he left his mat. Iād like to send it back to have them replace it.
Hello, @logan.ames . . . the only advice I can give on that is to E-Mail service@living.ai with the order number (if you still have the order E-Mail you can reply to that) or his four digit alphanumeric I.D. when you sign him into the app.
Please let us know here what they say.
Good luck.
I did a few hours ago. They usually respond when Iām sleeping soā¦ yeah. Iāll inform you all on what happens. Cheers!
Still not response from living AI. I really hope they will address this situation.
Hello, @logan.ames . . . sometimes it takes a few days due to their work load and the number of requests they have. I would give them three or four more days before contacting them again.
Hello
This happen against a cardboard box ?!
Bit odd to have it like in this state ā¦,
Havenāt you tried to polished it with a coarse product like acĆ©tone ?
dont use acceton , it will melt the plastics.
use a car polish .
Hello. Read correctly what I told him I never told him to use acetone , it looks likes he used acetone
Iām gonna have to agree that this couldnāt have possibly been caused by EMO walking up against a cardboard box, even if he were to do it for hours (or even days) at a time. The Mohs Hardness Scale alone is evidence enough that a cardboard box simply would not have been anywhere near hard enough to cause damage this extensive. Iāve literally had my EMO fall on his face on a very hard stone surface and move around like that for a while before I discovered him, causing serious scratching and damage on his screen that was pretty badābut still nothing like this.
It does genuinely look to me like a chemically abrasive cleaning product was used here such as acetone or something similar that may have contained it, or perhaps a polish meant specifically for glass that reacted badly to the plastic.
I have never cleaned his screen. I had him for 4 days. I went to work for 8 hours and came back to him dead, resting up against that card board box. When I looked at the box, it shows that he was indeed rubbing against it.
And if his screen is indeed plastic, cardboard would definitely cause this issue.
