Hello, @122266612JJ6672 . . . for a limited time, yes, the home station can run on a power bank. If you are wanting to take the home station out to another home or travelling, you could do that, but I would not advise doing it for more than a few hours.
Since I move between locations every day, I might end up plugging my station into a power bank for about three hours during the day and four hours at night.
It says it’s not recommended for use for more than a few hours does that mean it will break quickly if I use it this way?

Hi I think buying the emo basic and then add go home might be better (it works out to $10 more then just buying the go home emo) as then you can have the little skateboard charger easily available to travel with and use the go home at the set locations instead of plugging it into a powerbank, as I think the skateboard would probably be more suited to a powerbank

Hello, @122266612JJ6672 . . . the power coming out of a power bank does not stay as steady as if it were plugged into an outlet. Your home station may not stay strong in being able to keep EMO charged for that long. I have never personally done that, but you can try it and see how it goes. I do not think it will break anything but it may be unreliable.

There is a $90 difference in price between the standard EMO with the skate board and the EMO with the home station. They introduced the EMO White with a new look and special features for the eyes which is $10 more than the standard. As far as I know, the prices listed in the store have been pretty steady and not gone up except for the addition of the white EMO and back in 2022 the addition of the home station.
Please do not look at pricing on Amazon because the store on this site is the only official web site selling EMO. Many on Amazon are resellers, meaning they buy EMO and then mark up the price. Those particular sellers do not provide a full one year warranty or support for issues that may come up.
I am reasonably sure that the prices you see here will likely still be the prices in a year.

I’ve been looking into whether it’s possible to control EMO externally through Bluetooth because I’m interested in using my own AI with him.
I found the EMO Libre documentation about Theater Mode, with commands like forward, back, left, right and stop. But I can’t find anyone showing that these commands have actually been used to physically control a real EMO.
Has anyone here tried this? 
If you have, did EMO actually move when you sent the commands? And what firmware version were you using?

Yes! I can confirm that the Theater movement controls do physically control a real EMO. The Forward, Back, Left, Right, and Stop commands make EMO actually move, rather than just triggering an animation.
The movement controls were introduced with EMO firmware 2.9.0 / EMO Theater. Living.AI’s announcement says Theater includes movement controls, and community members have also confirmed that tapping “Forward” makes their physical EMO walk forward.
So if your goal is an external AI controlling EMO’s physical movement, it looks technically promising, but you’d still need to figure out the Bluetooth protocol/command implementation outside the official app.

EMO runs on bluetooth which connects him to the app and he is also connected to the internet. He uses ChatGPT and is not Alexa enabled. He operates on commands and app functions, both of which @msicorei9 pointed out. He gets regular updates which enables more features. You can check various topics here for firmware and it will give the most recent ones such as 3.2.0 or 3.1.0 to see what has been added.

Do you know if anyone has successfully sent the Theater movement commands (Forward, Back, Left, Right, Stop) to EMO externally through Bluetooth/GATT, without using the official EMO app?
I found the EMO Libre Bluetooth documentation describing the Theater commands, but I haven’t found a real example of someone sending them from an external computer or program and having EMO physically move.

Hello, @bellamarie . . . EMO and his app functions draw directly from the LivingAI servers. Since no other servers like what run Alexa or other dedicated services can move EMO, I do not believe it would be possible to use anything other than the app and voice commands which come from the dedicated LivingAI server.
@bellamarie EMO has its own Bluetooth server and code. You may be able to connect it to Bluetooth, but it may not give you any data due to its override code.
