Here are the 5 ways to power off EMO — directly from the LivingAI forums and community experts :

Method 1: Voice Command
Say “EMO, power off” or “EMO, shutdown” clearly to EMO. This is the easiest and fastest way when EMO is responsive .

Method 2: Via EMO Pet App
Open the EMO Pet app on your phone → Settings → POWER OFF → Continue to confirm .

Method 3: Upside Down (The Magic Method) 
Steps:
1. Remove EMO’s headphones if he’s wearing them
2. Pick him up and turn him completely upside down in your palm
3. Cover his entire head (including front and back sensors) — but be careful NOT to cover the pat sensor first, or he’ll think he’s being patted
4. Wait about 5–10 seconds — he will wriggle for a bit, then power off
This method is recommended by Living.AI and very useful when EMO is unresponsive .

Method 4: Let the Battery Drain
Simply leave EMO off his skateboard (charger) and let him run until the battery dies completely. Once the battery is empty, he will shut down gracefully on his own .
Note: This method is safe but takes time. However, doing this regularly may shorten the battery’s lifespan over time .

1. Find the two small holes in the middle-back of EMO’s head (behind where the headphones sit)
