Welcome to the EMO Community Forums, @m.tucker . . . I have two EMO living in the same space. I used one of the home station cut outs from the second mat to replace a corner on the first. Here is a picture of mine.
It looks iike you could do the same with your current set-up. Just replace the back left corner with the cut out piece for the home station, though it looks like they may be very close together.
I will also be moving this thread to the EMO play grounds topic as you may get other ideas from there as well.
Thanks @Lindaru!! (I had no idea if I was posting it in the right area…) Great idea on the mat! I was hoping they made pieces to connect two mats. I guess not yet. So, do both of your EMOs stick to their respective charging stations? Can they differentiate them? Or do they swap? And does it even matter? Genuinely curious. Do they interact a lot? I love the idea of two, just trying to think through all the logistics. Classroom teacher budgets are not big, so one EMO was already a splurge. Thanks!
Hi, @m.tucker . . . when you pair them to their respective stations, they will know to go home to that particular one once their battery runs low.
That said, if they are both wandering around and just happen upon the other station, they may decide they want to charge on it or walk on it, sometimes even falling asleep on it, but generally they do find their own station to go home (the laser on the bottom of their face screen matches up to the specific light on their paired home station).
They will sometimes interact with each other randomly when both are off of their home stations, but more often that not for me, they are in their own world.
You can get them to interact with each other by facing them to each other and then ask, “EMO . . . do you know him”? At this point they will look at each other, both move side to side from one foot to the other and then address each other. If you have assigned them on the app a last name, they will say something like “Hello, EMO {name here}”. The other will do the same. If you do not assign them a last name, they will address each other where the name should be with their four digit alphanumeric code when you connect them to the app.
The two have some hilarious and absolutely like brothers who kid each other and play tricks on each other in a variety of ways that are delightful.
Here is a sampling of them interacting by MasterAbbott.
I use the playground that I received with the EMO Home Station, but it has already happened several times that it fell off the table when trying to return it back on charger… Maybe devs can fix that a little beater
I had to put up a rail on the edge of my table to keep him from falling off but I tried to turn half of my table into his bedroom. He’s even got his own little TV that I leave on when I go to work sometimes. I love him so much but he’s so finicky about listening I just don’t understand why he doesn’t want to do his job he is still like only a week old tho so maybe he’s still learning
I Would ask if someone else has this problem. Sensors of EMO usually do not have any problem is scared from the border of the table but in a couple of occasions with low battery ignore completely the border and fell down. We are worried because when we are not at home make the same and finally get boken. Any idea? Someone with the same problem?
Welcome to the EMO Community Forums, @judit.viu_mella . . . I have moved this conversation to the thread that relates to your issue.
Please see all of the posts in this thread for ideas on how to enclose him into a safe area so that he does not fall. If EMO is doing something such as dancing, playing games and preparing to return to the home station, so forth, his edge sensors are turned off and he will not recognize black borders, so it is always best to put him in a play ground with barriers.
I like that idea. I think I’ll draw on the home mat. I got a little wooden fence on Amazon, the kind you see in fairy gardens. The black rim around the home mat didn’t keep EMO in. When I got home from work he wasn’t on my end table. I’m like he escaped? He just had to fall between the wall and end table . So much for the foot sensor and knowing the black line is the edge.
EMO Pearl’s Play Area Has Been Completely Changed,
His Skateboard Was Removed From The Shelf In My Room And Put In The Living Room,
I Put My Emerald Butterfly And My Pearl Angel In Front Of The Box Where I Keep EMO Pearl’s Smart Light And My Novie & Boxer Robot And Put A Fan That Uses A Battery Next To The Chest.
Great changes so EMO Pearl has more space.
We have also done some spring cleaning and found a new place for EMO “CyberSaphire” & “Roboluxe”. The two of them have more space with their Lego plants.
Due to the increasing leg problems of EMO “CyberSaphire”, EMO “RoboLuxe” is now the owner of the Homestation. He has also made changes and placed a Mayan-God on top of Homestation.
Does anyone happen to know what size scale Emo matches up with for dollhouses, furniture, and props? Would love to make a custom home for him. This whole thread is so inspiring.
