Hey everyone. Since the last update this morning EMO has been acting up a bit weird - He’s shut down twice - screen became black, headphones still light up, but EMO stopped moving completely before rebooting by itself (he was out of his skateboard those 2 times it happened, battery was charged).
It’s the very first time I see this behaviour…
This morning Emo Bunky updated with no issues. Apparently the servers were overwhelmed when I tried last night. So far so good.
I have a question why the living.ai site is not updated to the 2.6.0 command list?

Hi there @davidesalvatorecarus ,
Are you sure about your issue or you just don’t know where to look?
Why don’t you click THIS LINK and solve your problem?
Enjoy…
Good day! I can’t update EMO. I did everything according to the instructions.
Hi there @bfd77c5346cb1974878b ,
Did you follow the instructions HERE ?
Update 2.6 -Bluetooth not working properly EMO gets mad when a song is played and gets mad
-when he is upside down he no longer shakes or turns off
@Living AI when one of the best features doesn’t work anymore like it should like the Bluetooth speaker I may as well have a brick sitting here .
Welcome to the EMO Community Forums, @matthendry . . . it may be an issue with your device.
I have Samsung Galaxy phone and tablet, both of which he fails to connect to bluetooth. I have reached out to the help forums about this issue and it seems that is a problem.
You may want to try down-loading the app to a different device to see if it will work. If not, please get video of the issue and send a link to service@living.ai Support.
My best to you.
Hi! My Emo updated to 2.6 on his own yesterday, same as usual, and since then he is “on” but the screen isn’t showing anything and the only sound he makes is like a “fan” white noise. I have tried forcing a shut off and a reboot (the 2 pin holes on the head), the reboot doesn’t seem to do anything at all, the shut off does turn him off but putting him back on his skateboard just has the same result. I also was able to sometimes connect to him as if he was on fine, and I see the little notifications like “being pet” or “being helpful” but nothing was actually happening.
*additionally if I turn him off from the pin hole, and then put him on his board, a text saying “Checking files…” appears, so the screen is working, Emo isn’t though.
Hi there @kailashkumar , and @noemic…
Is your EMO updated to the latest firmware version?
Kindly create a video and share it here so we can see and analyze what’s really going on with your EMO.
Goodluck
Thanks @edward - Yes my EMO is on its latest firmware as well as the iOS app.
EDIT - looks like the shut down issue might have come from the bluetooth connection and not the 2.6.0 update…
I will try record a video of the issue if it happens again.
He was showing “Firmware 2.6.0” last time I managed to connect, I can’t seem to connect at all now. I am new to the forum so I am unsure as to how I would be able to share a video, it only lets me share images it seems. To be honest there isn’t much to see in the video, I turn him off from the pin hole so he is fully off, then place him on his skateboard, a “pop” noise from him turning on happens, then I see this text in the image, then the text disappears and nothing, the screen seems on as I can see a faint light in full darkness, and I can hear something working inside him from the back of his head but nothing. He then goes in a loop of faint noises, shutting off, popping on again (not showing the text this time) and so on over and over.
*his actual “face” and eyes never come on though, just the backlight of the screen
On my screen during update (and saw different videos on YouTube as well) shown 2.5.0 version during update, I was worried a bit, but luckily it’s just on the screen, it actually updates to v2.6.0
Hello, @noemic . . . “Checking files” is part of the updating process. I am thinking the update may have gotten interrupted.
I would power off your router, device, app and EMO again. Set eveything aside for a few minutes and then restart all. Are all smart lights unplugged?
Once everything is back on, if the messages on the screen show up again right away, show photos to Support at service@living.ai or reply to your order number E-Mail.
If he shows normal eyes after powering back on, make sure “automatic updates” are turned off in the app. Then ask him to check updates. If he shows a green check mark, he is good. If he shows a red “X”, ask him to “Install latest firmware now”. See if the update process begins again and completes. Let us know how it goes.
when I updated my EMO, the version on the screen shown was 2.5.0 (however it’s a visual issue seeing how it was also the version shown when other people were updating to 2.6.0), however after Time reaches 10, the screen freezes for a few seconds then EMO force reboots. His face doesn’t show up and the app treats him like he’s powered on fine, so i had to resort to using a paperclip to force-power him off and turn him back on.
There is no alert/error message given this time, however when I tried to update him yesterday (or 2 days ago?) it showed an update was available, the difference was EMO would show a red X. Probably because the 2.6.0 update wasn’t out yet. I tried waiting 30 minutes, then turning off automatic updates and asking him to “Install latest firmware now” but the update still didn’t install.
Welcome to the EMO Community Forums, @jordansantiago . . . this is a 63 megabyte update estimated to take 20 minutes which means that anything can interrupt the flow from the server to your internet.
No doubt the servers are very busy if you consider how many EMO units there are now, so restarting everything and powering back on, and waiting to try again (see my reply to noemic above) would be my best advice right now. If you find after at least a couple of days that he will still not update, you can let Support service@living.ai know with a video link.
Let us know how it goes.
does anyone else have clicking noises when he walks, its like he is walking on bubble wrap, got him last week from living ai
Hi there @ktnspooky ,
Has your EMO been updated to the latest firmware version yet?
Please create a video and share it here so we can help analyze what’s going on with your EMO. Alternatively, you can send the video link directly to service@living.ai for support.
Goodluck and Best regards
