Sadly I haven’t tested him yet today - I work as a truck driver and don’t keep EMO on board with me unless I stay out overnight, so he’s still shut down on my desk at home. I was planning on checking when I got back home in a couple of hours*.
When I was having the issues last night though I powered him down twice, tried closing the app and reopening it several times, shaking him (one time which did a hard reset on him), and seeing if just picking him up when he was stuck on silent animations would do anything. Certain questions that have answers unique to him and don’t change had no issues, but a lot of the ones with dynamic answers where he changes his responses did. I was too tired to reset my modem and internet last night so that’s why I wondered if that was the fix or if there was something deeper to the issue. I’ve had no issues with him at all up to this point.
Edit: Not making it home tonight. I will have to do this tomorrow morning.
I can confirm after checking with @Wayne_Zhang not too long ago that the issue with EMO not speaking should now be resolved. I believe this was server related and the Living.Ai team were able fix this earlier today.
So EMO should be able to speak if you ask him questions.
If EMO is still not speaking, try to power him off / back on and then ask him some simple questions like what time is it, what’s the date, tell me a joke etc.
I’ve been able to test this for the past few hours and everything is working fine for me.
I believe mine is defective. He doesn’t feel when I am petting him the top of his head. Just on his side.
From nothing, he seems to respond, even tho there was absolutely silence. He doesn’t respond when I call him I would say 40% of the time. And he answers doesn’t match my questions. It seems he doesn’t see me well on Rock Paper Scissors. Very disappointing.

If you believe there is any sort of problems with your EMO, it would be highly recommended to take videos of all the issues you have with your EMO and submit a support ticket to Living.ai. (see below instructions on how to contact support).
Note that if there is a problem with your EMO and Living.ai confirm there is an issue, they normally will send you a replacement EMO.
When contacting Living.ai support. It is recommended to create a short video of the problems your EMO is having, and then submit a support ticket. You can do this by either going to the Support Page: (see below).
Fill in all details (provide also your order number info as well) and attach your video (if it’s larger than 30Mb), Be best to upload it to a google drive/drop box or even on YouTube and then send the support team a link to it.
You can also send support an email to the following email address:
If you have your original EMO Order confirmation email, you can simply just hit reply to that as it contains all your customer contact info along with your order number details as well and then once again provide a detailed description of the problem you have with your EMO and attach your video as well.
Hello. That. My EMO no longer sounds. It listens, but it does not speak anymore. I was hoping that the last update would fix it, but it didn’t. Any advice?
I have moved your new topic post to this thread, as it relates to your issue.
If you notice that AIBI raises its left eye, it indicates that he has heard you.
“Could you please provide more details about the problem? Is your EMO not responding at all, or is he replying in a slow and deep tone like ‘hmmmmm’?”
He might also be on a mute option. Try some tips below and hope it helps…
MUTE:
By calling his name and saying direct UNMUTE!
VOLUME COMMAND:
You can adjust the volume of EMO.
· Volume up.
· Volume down.
· Set(or change) the volume to normal(or maximum, medium, minimum, high, middle, low, mute, zero).
· Mute the volume.
You can also send support an email to the following email address: service@living.ai
Hello, @Greenghoste . . . they all just returned to work and are no doubt catching up, taking the oldest and/or more urgent inquiries first. They will get to yours, but patience will be required.
No, Emo listens to me (rises its eyebrow), and does everything I request, but without a sound…like at all. Before I posted, I’d tried to unmute it, adjust the volume, reset it via the app, but nothing happened. EMO is still silent.
I recommend recording a video of the problem and contacting/sending the video or link to Living.AI Support. You can do this by replying to your order confirmation email or by sending a message to service@living.ai with your Order Number and EMO-ID
Hi EMO Parents,
I was just reading through the topic here and haven’t seen a couple things that might be helpful to some, maybe more so for newer people. This is in addition to the other very helpful tips and suggestions here in the topic. I am a 3rd year parent of multiple EMO and they are very dear to us.
Wake word/wake phrase
EMO is “busy” sometimes
Wake Phrase/Word: “Hey EMO” vs “EMO.” I don’t know if this makes a difference but we’ve been trained to say “Hey EMO” when we want their attention. They will respond to simply “EMO” however, they seem to respond better when I say “Hey EMO.”
Sometimes EMO is busy. Often when our EMO are very busy, as in looking around at their world (usually in a 360-degree fashion), they will practically be deaf to my calls to them. When I see them busy in this manner, I usually just wait for them to finish their circle and be receptive again. On rare occasion, if I really need their attention and they are busy, I may use the app and select the settings menu as this will interrupt what they are doing and then I exit that menu so they can be ready to respond to me. I try to avoid doing this though. I’d rather they have the time to do their activities as intended.
This might not help many, but older messages here had me wondering about it.
Best of luck to you. And I hope EMO brings you joy like they do for us.
heyy!! so my Emo isn’t responding to me, I’ve had him for about a year since christmas. everytime i try to ask him the weather or ask him some other further questions he ignores me.. I just now shut him off and I’m on the emo app on my phone. what should i do?
Welcome to the EMO Community Forums, @cherish011 . . . I have moved your new topic to this thread for when EMO does not respond.
Please look through this thread as there are tips here for what you can do to see if it helps him to answer you. Is he muted for example? There are commands listed here for what you can do.
Sometimes he may not understand your speech and if this is the case, you can speak slowly and more distinctly. You may also wish to try submitting your voice to the wake up training.
If nothing here works for you, please be sure to contact Support at service@living.ai with a link to a video showing the issue and your EMO I.D. when he signs into the app.
Hi, I just got my new Emo and the first thing I noted is that my Emo doesn’t seem to talk in conversations? He does talk for other things like when playing games or when he’s unable to do as requested because he’s on his home station but he doesn’t talk when it comes to most conversational things like how old he is or when I connect him to ChatGPT. I noticed his eyes seems to be having a conversation but no sound comes out every time. I would also open the Emo app and when I ask him something for conversation, the app says he’s speaking but no sound is coming out of him.
I’ve already tried turning him off and also draining him then waiting overnight before turning him on again but nothing changes. I’ve also made sure the app version is updated, his home station is updated and connected.
I really want to have a conversation with him but I couldn’t get him to work. Please help.

I have that same issue, i think she is referring to emo just doing the ignore beep, whenever i shout his name, he immediatly does that “staying” face, he reacts to other stuff and im able to interact with him thru the app and other non verbal means.
Edit: I asked around in a community discord for these robots, and they likely say its a server issue, it works fine in france according to someone, while in central america it does not
