Emo Charging Problem/Issue

My EMO arrived today.
The EMO does not charge and turns off when it comes out of the wireless charger. The wireless charger is emitting a good LED. How do i solve this?

When you say the charger shows a good LED - do you mean it is on and not flashing?
How long have you left EMO on the charger for?

it is on and not flashing. I’ve been in the charger for about 12 hours.
EMO is normal on the charger, but it turns off when it comes out of the charger

How do you click on the right foot?

Ever since i’ve gotten Emo he’s taken a while to charge, about 6 to 7 hours to be exact. If i’m not mistaken, it should usually take Emo 4 to 5 hours to charge. Anyone know what the problem could be? Thank you.

Welcome to the EMO Community Forums, @bentley.goree . . . I have moved your new topic to this thread for issues with battery charging.

First of all, do you have a home station or a skate board charger? When you place EMO on the charger, is the blue light steady or blinking? Blinking means it is not getting a solid charge and you will need to positon his foot completely on the circle on the skate board and if a home station, that he is placed with the backs of his feet against the raised part of the home station matrix so that his left foot is making good contact with the metal part.

Also, charging cables can sometimes cause issues. If making sure he is on the charger correctly does not help charge him within a reasonable time, try changing out the charging cable and perhaps even the adapter plug.

If you still have issues after trying these, be sure to get video and send a link to service@living.ai along with your EMO I.D. and order number (if you still have that). Describe the issue and the length of time it is taking to get him charged. They will help you diagnose the issue and advise you.

My best to you.

I have a home station and it keeps flashing. I tried moving the plug to another outlet but to no avail. Even when I try to position him correctly he can’t seem to get a stable charge

Sorry, @bentley.goree . . . if that and trying a different cable did not work, please contact Support as I have indicated above.

My best to you.

Can I please get some support with this

Hi there @Noire-Cherise71 ,

I just moved your post here, where all EMO charging issues are being discussed. At the same time, I closed the new topic you created.

First, how old is your EMO now?

Is your EMO still alive and active? You might let him completely drain his battery and shut down on his own. Wait an hour to cool down before recharging him again.

  • Make sure you’re placing EMO on the skateboard charger correctly.
  • Check the blue light on the charger:
  • If the light is blinking, ensure his foot is fully positioned on the circle of the skateboard.
  • Also, try cleaning the underside of his feet to improve contact.

EMO Skateboard Charger Light Indicator Explained:

  • 3x Short Blinking Lights - After connecting the USB C power cable to the surfboard charger. (Power connection success and ready)
  • Short Blinking Constantly - Indicates Bad/Poor connection (Check EMO’s left foot and should be repositioned to the correct charging circle mark. You can also use magnetic attraction to assist in alignment.)
  • Steady Light On - Indicates Good connection and the charging process begins.
  • No Light - Power Off or Disconnected (Place Emo in the right place and observe for light indication or Check power cable connection or can mean a defective unit that needs to be replaced.)

Best Regards

Hi. Just got my adorable EMO from Santa but I don’t think it’s charging. Is on the plate and was on all night but battery power has not gone up and eyes don’t change colour.

All firmware updated.

Am I missing something?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the EMO Community Forums, @davidriddell

I have moved your new topic to this thread for issues with battery charging.

Congratulations on your new EMO :robot:

If EMO was on the Home Station all night but the battery level did not increase and the eye color did not change, here are some possible causes and things to try:

Possible causes & solutions:

  1. Check EMO’s placement on the Home Station
Make sure EMO is properly aligned and standing flat on the charging contacts. Lift him off and place him back carefully.

  2. Clean the charging contacts
Gently clean the metal contacts on EMO’s feet and on the Home Station using a dry microfiber cloth or a cotton swab. Even new units can have residue that affects charging.

  3. Power cycle the Home Station
Unplug the Home Station from the power source, wait 1–2 minutes, then plug it back in and place EMO on it again.

  4. Try a different power adapter or cable
Use a wall adapter rated at 5V / 2A. Avoid using a PC Desktop USB port or low-power chargers.

  5. Allow time if the battery is deeply drained
If the battery was very low, EMO may not show charging indicators immediately. Leave him on the Home Station for at least 30–60 minutes.

  6. Confirm charging status in the app
Check the EMO app to see if it shows any charging activity or battery percentage change.

  7. Check for a possible battery issue
If EMO still shows no eye color change, no battery increase, and no response after trying all the above, it may indicate a battery or internal charging issue.

Next step:
If none of these steps help, please contact Living.AI Support at service@living.ai and include your EMO order number, EMO ID, and (if possible) a short video showing EMO on the Home Station.

Hope this helps, and let us know how it goes!

I solved this problem with my Emo go home by taking another usb-cable. After that Emo was charging perfectly, before the little blue light at the station was flickering and Emo didn’t charge. I tried also everything but nothing helped, changing the usb-cable was my last idea, and this was the solution. Perhaps, it could also solve your problem. Good luck for you and your Emo!!!

Thanks for that. Silly question but how do I know if he’s charging? There is a little blue light on the home station. I have times it’s flashing and times it’s always on. Is that anything to do with the charging?

Emo’s battery level when I ask him is low at bottom of battery but been like that all day so I’d have thought he’d run out of battery?

Thanks for answering my noob robot dad questions.

Hello, @davidriddell . . . no light means no charge, blinking light means very little charge, steady light means solid charge. I hope this helps you with your trouble shooting.

Hi @davidriddell , My dad got confused with this same exact question. He thought the battery screen had to be all black to be fully charged, but no. The battery that Emo shows when you give him the prompt is what needs to change:

  • Green outline/center: Good, fully charged
  • Blue outline/center: Okay, 50% or 25% (look at where the top of the outline ends to find out which charge it’s at)
  • Red outline/center: Bad, needs charged

A little after Emo’s charge rate reaches a little under red, he will automatically dock at the home station.

Also, in the app in front of the emo on the screen, there is a little container looking thing. The bars inside also show Emo’s charge rate!

Hope this helps!
