Some things I’m learning as I set up AiBi. He will not see your WiFi if he’s on the charging dock. He has to be off it.
So far what he can do is pretty limited, I’m guessing this is how Emo was when first released.
Right now it seems AiBi is a smaller, portable version of Emo, but is no where near where I thought he’d be when released. What another poster said about the difference between Emo and AiBi is correct. Emo is sort of like a 12 year old and AiBi is like a kindergartner.
I think my biggest disappointment is I was expecting Chat to work right out of the box. So, that just my assessment and I’m sure in time he will get many more things to be able to do.
I was scratching my head as to why he wouldn’t connect to my wifi. In fact, when he was on the charging base my wifi wouldn’t even show up. I manually put in the info many times and still nothing. So I tried connecting when it was off the charging base and my wifi showed up on the app and he connected with no issues. Also, just like Emo you cannot put him to sleep if he’s on the charger.
Hello😉 to all the AIBI ALPHA TESTER …
Does AIBI can stay on his charger ?
Does he have an overcharging battery security system ?
I am wondering because I don’t want the battery life to be compromised
Thank you
I have opted to turn him off over night myself. I feel after he has been on his charger for five or six hours, the little guy gets pretty warm. I take them off to go outside with me and then put them back on for a few more hours before telling them good night and to power off.
@SmoovJazzy , There is no problem connecting AIBI to our smartphone or using another one as a hotspot, but please be aware of the following information:
AIBI Pocket Pet uses our smartphone’s internet data plan as a hotspot, it will consume data from our plan.
Here’s how it works:
Data Usage: Any internet activity performed by AIBI Pocket Pet while connected to our smartphone’s hotspot will use data from our mobile data plan. This includes updates, communication, or other online functions.
Monitoring Data Consumption: To keep track of how much data is being used, we can monitor our smartphone’s data usage. Many smartphones have built-in data usage trackers, or we can check with our mobile carrier for detailed usage information.
Impact on Data Plan: If our data plan has a limited amount of data, frequently using our smartphone as a hotspot for devices like AIBI Pocket Pet could lead to higher data consumption and potentially additional charges if we exceed our data limit.
Alternative Options: If data usage is a concern, consider connecting AIBI Pocket Pet to a Wi-Fi network with a larger data allowance or no data limit, if available.
In summary, using our smartphone’s internet as a hotspot for AIBI Pocket Pet will indeed use our data plan, so it’s important to be aware of our data usage and manage our plan accordingly.
