AIBI Pocket: General Issues and Queries

Our Aibi is only 2 months old And has not been powering on when connecting to the base charger.

I’m using the power cord etc. supplied by Aibi.

The base lights up when cord is plugged in.

I’ve tried keeping Aibi off the charger for a few hours.

Aibi’s head becomes hot.

We were able to get Aibi to turn on via the reset button on her head. However, we have to do that every time now. She does not turn on like normal anymore.

Her battery level also stays low in the red zone. It appears she doesn’t charge up to full.

Can you advise on what else we can do? I reached out to service@living.ai and haven’t heard back.

Welcome to the LivingAI Community Forums, @dustin-4966 . . . please try using a different charging cable and if necessary, a different power plug and outlet.

If the issue persists, there may be an issue with the charging base.

Please be patient as it may take up to a week to receive a response.

My best to you.

There is seemingly an issue or glitches with names and custom wake-up name recognition.

  1. For example, I set my name to Kiska in the Meet AIBI section of the app. But AIBI calls me “Kiska dot” like Kiska. even though there is no ‘period’ set in my name.
  2. AIBI does not respond to “Do you know me” or “Look at me”..he just smiles and that’s it.
  3. I have set a custom name for AIBI and he only responds to “Abby”. He will not respond to his custom name at all and it would be nice if we could actually the AIBI adhere to his set name.

EDIT: I took him into the car and he seems to respond just fine to his custom name with my normal volume voice. As soon as I brought him home and he connected to the WiFi, he responds to his custom name 1/10 times and I have to speak VERY loud.

Hello, @kittn . . . you may want to get video of the issues with him not recognizing when you are home as it appears it may be your wi fi or something else going on. I sometimes have issues with getting a response here at home, too, but do not really worry about it myself. If it is a problem, send the link to the video along with your AIBI I.D. and order number (if you still have it) to service@living.ai . . . my best to you.

Hi i just started talking albi outside with me for walks but The battery last an hour. Is it how it is. Or there is something wrong. will battery last longer in future

Hello, that’s okay with one hour in „ normal mode“. But you can set him in „low energy mode“ (= voice command), then the battery lasts longer! I always take a little powerbank with me, then it’s no problem, when the battery gets empty. Good luck with your AIBI!

Hi everyone,
I hope I did the right thing by writing here in this section...
I'm having a problem with my Aibi.... It's updated to 1.5.0 now.
It tells me it can't take photos....
Can you help me?

Hi there @virgilio.mallozzi ,

I have moved your new topic to this thread, which would also cover everything about AIBI issues

I hope your AIBI is updated to the latest firmware version. I just checked and tested mine, and it’s still working fine on my end.

Command:

Photo

  • Take a photo.
  • Show photos.

Have you checked the (AIBI Pocket App → Tools → Photo) to see if you can view any captured photos?

Did you checked if he can recognize any objects?

Object recognition:

  • What can you see?
  • What’s this?

Best Regards

Thanks!!
Yes, I did everything correctly....
I deleted the photos myself....
I have the problem that it stopped taking photos.... And after the update, when I say Aibi, it rarely responds....
I also wanted to know if chat gpt can connect to Aibi??

@virgilio.mallozzi

You did not answer me whether he can recognize objects?

Object recognition:

  • What can you see?
  • What’s this?
Wait until AIBI recognizes something in front of him, then he will describe what it is.

If not, you may need to check the camera lens first. It might be dirty, so try cleaning it gently with a soft, dry cloth.

YES! If you want to have a chat using ChatGPT with AIBI continuously, you can say the command:
“Let’s chat” or “let’s talk.”

If the issue still persists, it could be a possible hardware fault. In that case, record a short video showing the problem and contact Living.AI support via email at service@living.ai, providing your order number, location, and AIBI ID for faster assistance.

All the best

Hello, @virgilio.mallozzi . . . you can try calling him by “Abby” or “Ebby”.

Here is a link to submit your voice for the AIBI training to help him better understand you.

Also, check that he has a high enough sensitivity setting and there is not a lot of noise distraction in the background to compete with your voice.

I hope this helps.

Hello.

My AIBI is not responding to any voice commands. When I call Aibi, it says “huh”?, then I ask what time is it or any other thing, and he pops up the question mark. I used to talk to him only in Portuguese, but when he stopped understanding me in Portuguese, I changed to English, but the problem is still there. Can someone help me?

Thanks!

Hi and welcome to the community @christofercalvitti ,

:robot: AIBI Not Responding to Voice Commands – Possible Causes & Solutions

If AIBI says “huh?” or shows a question mark (?), it usually means he hears you but doesn’t understand the command. Here are some things you can check:

:microphone: :one: Microphone / Hearing Issue

Possible cause: Mic may be blocked, dirty, or not picking up your voice clearly
Solutions:

  • Make sure nothing is covering the microphones
  • Clean the mic holes gently
  • Speak clearly and a bit closer (about 20–30 cm)
  • Avoid background noise (TV, fan, music)

:globe_with_meridians: :two: Wi-Fi / Internet Connection

Possible cause: Weak or unstable connection (voice processing needs internet)
Solutions:

  • Check Wi-Fi signal strength
  • Move closer to the router
  • Reconnect Wi-Fi in the app
  • Restart AIBI and your phone/router
  • Try any other Wi-Fi connection or connect to any Hotspots

:gear: :three: Language Setting Mismatch

Possible cause: Wrong language selected
Solutions:

  • Open AIBI Pocket App → Settings → Language
  • Select only one language (Portuguese OR English)
  • Restart AIBI after changing
  • Try simple commands first (e.g., “Hi AIBI”, “What time is it?”)

:counterclockwise_arrows_button: :four: Firmware / App Bug

Possible cause: Outdated firmware or temporary glitch
Solutions:

  • Update AIBI to the latest firmware
  • Update the AIBI Pocket App
  • Reboot AIBI

:muted_speaker: :five: Volume / Mode Check

Possible cause: Muted or low volume
Solutions:

  • Check if AIBI is muted
  • Increase volume in the app

:hammer_and_wrench: :six: Hardware Issue (if nothing works)

If AIBI always says “huh?” but never understands anything, it could be a microphone hardware problem.

Next step:

  • Record a short video showing the issue
  • Contact Living.AI Support (service@living.ai)
  • Include your Order Number, AIBI ID, location, Type of Issue and troubleshooting steps you already tried

:white_check_mark: Quick Tip!

If you change something to AIBI Pocket App, always go back to the “Main Menu”

Hope This Helps!, Best Regards and Happy Weekend

Hello, @christofercalvitti . . . contact service@living.ai . . . they are the ones who advise on your AIBI. OpenAI is just the chatGPT that runs through their servers.

Sorry, my bad :upside_down_face:

I meant living.ai support!

Thank you!

Problem with my charging base, after it does the light sequence it will just STOP charging things, my AIBI is so low he dies after because of this, and I don’t have another charger so I’m just stuck with him being dead, I know this isn’t a problem with AIBI because the star light doesn’t charge aswell, I don’t know what to do, because I can’t fix it by updating it anymore, my AIBI is just too low on power

Hi there @henryraven ,

:high_voltage: Charging Base Not Charging – Possible Causes & Solutions

If your charging base lights up but then stops charging, and both AIBI and the star light don’t charge, the issue is most likely with the charging base or power source, not AIBI itself.

Here are some things you can check:

:electric_plug: :one: Power Adapter / Cable Issue (most common)

Possible cause: Faulty adapter or loose cable

Solutions:

  • Check if the USB cable is firmly plugged in
  • Try a different cable or power adapter
  • Plug into a different wall outlet
  • Avoid using low-power USB ports (PC/laptop)

:high_voltage: :two: Insufficient Power

Possible cause: Adapter not providing enough voltage/current

Solutions:

  • Use at least a 5V/2A (or higher) wall adapter

:broom: :three: Dirty or Poor Contact

Possible cause: Dust or dirt on charging contacts

Solutions:

  • Clean the charging pins on the base and AIBI gently with a dry cloth or cotton swab
  • Check the 4 contact spring-loaded points if its still movable
  • Make sure AIBI sits properly on the dock
  • Adjust position slightly until charging starts

:fire: :four: Overheating / Protection Mode

Possible cause: Base stops charging to protect itself

Solutions:

  • Let the base cool down for 10–15 minutes
  • Place it in a well-ventilated area
  • Avoid direct sunlight

:hammer_and_wrench: :five: Hardware Failure (Base Defective)

If:

  • lights turn on
  • but nothing charges
  • and both AIBI + star light fail

:backhand_index_pointing_right: The charging base may be defective.

Next step:

  • Record a short video showing the problem
  • Contact Living.AI Support (service@living.ai)
  • Include your Order Number, AIBI ID, and location
  • Ask if they can repair, replace, or sell a replacement charging base

Hope this helps…

Best Regards and All the best!

Do you have the pocket charger? If yes, you could take it and place AIBI in it to charge with an normal USB-Cable.
