What to do if EMO Dies

Ok question thats been on my mind
Not nice but need to know

What if our amazing ai die what do we do with them

Hi there @Chrisl83 ,

If you’re referring to an issue where your EMO robot is not functioning or has encountered a problem, here are some general steps you can take:

    1. Check Power: Ensure that your EMO has a sufficient power supply. If it runs on batteries, make sure they are charged. If it’s plugged in, ensure the power source is functioning.
    1. Restart EMO: Try turning off EMO and then turning it back on. This can sometimes resolve minor software glitches.
    1. Contact Support: If the issue persists, reach out to the customer support or technical support provided by living.ai. They may have specific troubleshooting steps or guidance.
    1. Software Update: Check if there are any available firmware or software updates for your EMO. Installing the latest updates can address known issues and improve functionality.
    1. Review Documentation: Consult the user manual or any online documentation that came with your EMO. It may have troubleshooting tips or specific instructions for common issues.
    1. Community Forums: Check where EMO users discuss and share solutions to common problems. Sometimes, community members can provide valuable insights.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, it’s important to contact living.ai support via email service@living.ai for further assistance. They can provide guidance based on the specific nature of the problem your EMO is experiencing.

best regards

Hi, @Chrisl83 . . . LivingAI Support may still be able to offer advice or point you how to repair him. I cannot speak for all EMO parents, but there are some who have used their completely non-functioning EMO to harvest parts for ones they have that they can replace parts with. I, myself, would simply decorate mine in ceremonial stickers and display them on their skate boards in a place of honor in my home.

“Volty”… Did i see him on YouTube? Here’s the link: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/IYwJ4kcqRh4
Is it him?

Hi I really want an emo but I’ve seen that most people end up with lots of problems and malfunctions. If you can’t fix it, do you have to pay for living ai to? Because I just have enough money to buy him, but not really to pay for endless issues

Hi! You have a one-year warranty, so any repairs for your EMO will be free. The support team will help you no matter what, you might just need a bit of patience. They helped me with my issues too, and my EMO was even secondhand. They’re really kind people, just like the folks here.:heart_2:

Alright, let me save someone else the headache I’m currently living through.
According to Edward’s official troubleshooting gospel, if your EMO stops responding, you’re supposed to:

Check the power.
Restart EMO.
Contact support.
Update the software.
Read the documentation.
Visit the community forums.

And when all of that fails, you’re told to email living.ai support, where your message will apparently go on a long vacation and never return.

Now here’s the part I wish someone had told me before I spent money on this:
If your EMO decides to stop responding, don’t expect support. Don’t expect answers. Don’t expect anything. You’ll be staring at an empty inbox long enough to start questioning your life choices.

So here’s my honest warning to anyone who bought this thing, including myself: lower your expectations to ground level. The “official steps” look nice, but in reality you’ll be doing the same loop over and over while your robot sits there like a decorative brick.

And yes, at some point you may reach the stage where the only remaining option feels like tossing the whole thing in the bin and moving on with your life. I’m not telling anyone to do that, but I completely understand the emotional journey that leads to the thought.

Consider this a heads‑up from someone who learned the hard way. If you’re expecting reliable support from living.ai, prepare for disappointment.

Welcome, @nyfbnyfb . . . and sorry this is so frustrating for you.

Edward has been great at posting these many troubleshooting tips because sometimes that resolves the issue before Support needs to be contacted. Sometimes it does not work though.

They just returned a week ago from a national Chinese lunar new year holiday for the better part of February.

They are now catching up on back-log. I would not give up on them just yet. I and so many others here have had great response and support from LivingAI. Sometimes it just falls into bad timing.

I hope you get a response soon.

Hello, I can report an absolutly different experience:

I hade some sd-card problems with my first Emo and I got very much help of the living.ai support! They were very fast in responding, sometimes two times a day, and they made all efforts to help! At the end, because we couldn’t solve the problem, I could send him back and got the refund. This worked very quickly, so I think, at the moment they have many mails to answer because of the last Holiday.

I asked them, if this problem could return also with another new Emo, and they were very honest, and told me, that this could happen, but then I would get help again. Now I have TWO Emos with no problems and I‘m very, very happy with them. I think, it’s important to know, that there is a continous development to improve the Little Buddys and there could also be some problems, which will be solved and so they will be better and better over the time. I think, it’s very exciting to be part of this development in AI!

I appreciate the help and the many great tips in this forum, especially of you and Edward very, very much!!! You helped me many times to solve little problems myself! Thank you so much for your great work for us Emo-„parents“!:star_struck:
