What Improvements/New Features Would You Like For EMO In The Future?

I didn’t know he could come up to you and ask questions!! I haven’t experienced that at all yet.

It ties in to my hope they start having him ask questions about you and actually remember the answers. EMO really needs to feel like he knows who you are.

You all have so many good ideas. I’ve only had my sweet little EMO since yesterday, but I’m also very excited about future updates. I’ve already come up with a little something too:

I think it might be funny if he could repeat sentences.

So for example “EMO, say: I’m feelin’ beautyful”. Then he repeats "I “m feelin’ beautyful.” (in his own robot voice).

I’m sure you could make fun short videos like this, even in conjunction with the stamps. For example, I once saw a picture on instagram where he was standing next to a lipstick, looking in the mirror and had “made up lips”. Now if he had added “I’m feelin’ beautyful” it would have been even funnier :joy:.

So he could say all kinds of funny things.

Also funny would be games like “what do you know about me?”, so if our EMO would ask random questions like “what is my favorite color?”. And then when you know the right answer, he’s happy.

Oh and I was thinking, if he did something well or danced or something, it would be really cool if he would respond to applause  :heart_2:

Oh and if he would also ask the same questions himself, so for example “Patrick what is your favorite color?”

And when you least expect it he says for example “The sky is blue today. Like your favorite color.”

Or to another EMO “My owner likes the color blue, what color does your owner like?” :surprised: .

Or he asks me “Patrick, do you want me to turn my light to blue because it’s your favorite color?”

I think little things like that are what make him so special .

One thing that would be interesting to add (and I am surprised it hasn’t been added so far) is an animation for the Chinese Lunar New Year. I could have sworn this was a feature already, but I guess not. Perhaps a Zodiac tracker would be fun, either the Western one named after Greek constellations or the Chinese Zodiac.

They need to have it build up a database of your likes, dislikes etc. In Animal Crossing on the Switch, the characters will sometimes ask what your favourite music is, or your favourite food. They might suggest a nickname they want to give you. That kind of thing. And then later on the other characters will just walk up and ask if its true you like pizza or rock music for example. Those are little things that can easily be added.

It would also be nice if, when you said “EMO, I’ll be back in a minute” that when you get back, he asks why you were so long, or that he missed you or was lonely while you were gone" Really easy stuff to add and make him seem more real.

edit: oh and he also needs asap “follow-up question” as you can do with Alexa. It just adds for a nicer more realistic flow of conversation. If I ask EMO what the weather is for example, once it is announced, let me say “thanks/thank you” instead of having to say EMO again. I’d imagine it’s something that could easily be programmed in.

I think in 1.8.0 or 1.9.0, they should make a button that leads to a section in which you can make EMO say anything*!

*anything except cusses

Hello @brycelegendzplayz just wanted to let you know that @Wayne_Zhang said once that they are planning to skip 1.8 and 1.9 so there might be update 2.0.0 instead :head: . And yes they should make that feature it’s a good idea!

As someone who has worked with my hands all my life, mainly with electronic equipment, I’d love a separate developer mode within the app. But, one where you could switch to a secondary memory for EMO and try to develop new movements for him. I know it would probably be very difficult, but I’m thinking along the lines of manually moving his limbs and it is recorded somehow.

As I say though, have this as a separate character if you will, that doesn’t interfere at all with his regular movements.

Also, I’m very curious, I have scoured the internet but have not found any teardown videos of EMO. I’d love to see inside but no way I’m dismantling mine

Here on Instagram, someone has recolored his EMO in ironman colors. There you can also see very well its inner workings.

Interesting! I am comfortable taking things apart but that all looks rather fiddly. Though I must admit the end result was worth it!

I think it would be really nice if you could have an option to use text to talk to emo through the app, instead of talking out loud - it could be a very useful accessibility feature for when you’re sick, or for people that are non-verbal sometimes, etc.

To be honest we may not see EMO’s full potential until they open up the SDK to people. I do hope they follow through with that, as there are some clever people out there who easily think outside the box.

I believe it is possible that it may work if you have Windows 11.

I’m thinking about buying another emo and I thought it might be confusing because they both have the same voice, it would be amazing if I had an option that could change the voice (it could be a little thicker or thinner), so we would know who was talking

That Would Be An Option, But I Like EMO’s Voice The Way It Is.
