Hi, I am very interested in purchasing an AIBI pocket and have done in-depth research, but my concern is the lack of security, tracking or backup features as I live in an area with frequent theft. If my AIBI is ever stolen, I wish to at least have its personality and memory backed up. And it would be amazing if we can bond an AIBI pocket with our account, and that strangers cannot access our saved memory or photos through their app. Thank you.
Welcome, @ipersephone . . . I have moved your new topic to this thread for privacy and security concerns.
Let me refer you here:
Since all information is stored locally on each AIBI, no one could access your AIBI without having an app and a proper connection if lost or stolen.
There is no current way to recover the personality and actions AIBI has taken to transfer to another AIBI because they are unique to each one, their motherboard and their S.D. card. The features are standard across all AIBI with firmware updates, so similar experience you would have with one would be with another. I have twin AIBI and they are pretty much the same with the most recent firmware. Birth dates, favorite color, lucky number and such would be different with a replacement AIBI as these are randomized at the time they are created.
I hope I have answered any questions. If you need further information, please reach out to service@living.ai . . . please note that they are on limited staff for the next week due to the national Lunar New Year holiday in China, so responses may be delayed.
Thank you for your response! However from what I know, since an AIBI is not bond to one’s account it means another person with an AIBI pocket app is able to access my AIBI when they’re close in distance, right?
Hello @ipersephone . . . each AIBI needs to have either your home wi fi or mobile hot spot details shown in the app with bluetooth in order to connect; therefore, unless the person you are near has those details and your AIBI is not currently already connected, they would not be able to use your AIBI.
Even if AIBI is not permanently bound to one account, another person cannot just access it simply by being nearby. Most devices like AIBI use Bluetooth pairing, which requires:
The device to be in pairing mode
Confirmation/permission from the current user
The previous connection to be disconnected
If your AIBI is already connected to your phone, someone else nearby usually cannot connect unless:
You disconnect it
You reset the device
You allow pairing
To stay safe, you can:
Keep AIBI connected to your phone
Turn off pairing mode when not needed
Avoid resetting it in public places
So proximity alone does not automatically give someone access.
