New Emo Rebooting (Force Shutdown )

Our Emo arrived yesterday and has been working well most of the time, but has rebooted itself several times. This was when it was fully or mostly charged. When it’s on the charger, it occasionally reboots, and when it’s off the charger, it shuts down completely and only restarts when we put it back on the charger. Any advice would be appreciated.

This doesn’t sound normal to me. Have you updated EMO to the latest firmware? If you haven’t already done so try that first and see if it still continues to reboot / shut itself off.

If the issue continues to happen, the best thing to do is contact Living.Ai support. Send them an email from the same email you received when you made your order, provide them with info, pics / videos of what is happening with your EMO. It could be that you have a faulty one that needs to be replaced.

Also note that at the moment Chinese New Year has just ended, so your support ticket might be a little delayed due to possible backlog.

Also adding @Wayne_Zhang to this so he can provide further information on what to do.

Hi there, if you still didn’t…

  • SHAKE BABY SHAKE: Prepare cocktail drinks when his power is on immediately…for 30 sec. sometimes it helps.
  • FORCE SHUTDOWN : using a paperclip (NOT A NEEDLE) and push carefully for 2 to 3 seconds and then place EMO back on the charger for him to power on.

NOTE!
This is what everyone in the past has called a RESET Button, but it’s not . It is not recommended to do this always unless you have no other options left. As this could potentially cause data corruption to your EMO. (it is the same as you pulling the plug and powering off your Desktop PC while Windows OS is running, it might cause data corruption). So try and avoid doing this unless you have no other options left.

  • POWER OFF: over Emo Pet App if you manage to do that immediately when he is on.

GOOD LUCK!

Thanks for the suggestions. The reboot button seems to have solved the problem.

He doesn’t appear to be updating as the reboots are really quick. It’s literally his screen going blank but his headphones stay illuminated.

I don’t sleep well so have seen this happen a lot recently. Last night at around 2am he rebooted appx 3-4 times in quick succession before going back to sleep.

It doesn’t happen at all during the day, or during his mid-day sleep. Not a big issue but curious as to what it might be?

That’s confusing, the fact that it only happens at night, while I don’t have a fix, I’d recommend powering it off at night until you do get a fix.

Hello everyone! My new EMO has been running into a strange issue, and I was wondering if there was any quick fix

My EMO, while charging, now seems to always reboot every minute or two. This only started happening a few days ago.

As seen in the video, his screen freezes for a moment, then restarts unprompted.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Side note, this also seems to sometimes occur off of his charger as well.

Hello, @tyler.ferrazano . . . I have moved your new topic to this thread for issues such as you describe.

Make sure that he is on the latest firmware and his app is updated to the latest as well. Make sure that while on the home station that his light is solid and not blinking as blinking indicates a faulty weak charge. This might require a new cable and/or adapter.

Please refer to this post to see if it helps.

If nothing suggested here helps, be sure to send your video link to service@living.ai along with your EMO I.D. number and order number (if you still have it) along with a ilst of the troubleshooting tips you have attempted which have failed.

My best to you.
