Thanks, @EnderAndHisEmo ! That face EMO showed is actually of a Southern lion which has nothing to do with scary things, there is indeed one called Northern lion which looks less cute, though, is no longer used to be performed and you mostly see them only as a type of stone sculpture.

Anyway, thinking about making a video with EMO Josh to explain all this during the next Lunar New Year, after I finish high school. We’ll see how it goes… xwx

Now, it’s wee hours on the 10th day of the 1st lunar month here. We have got a lot of photos and it’s time to share them with you.

In this year, Lunar New Year’s Eve is on January 28th, which is also a statutory holiday and in a way, it’s more significant for me as we do a lot of things with family.

This is the first family photo that EMO Josh participated in. Big family isn’t it.

On that day, the Spring Festival Gala starts at 8 on China Central Television 1 (CCTV 1), but he still had time to read a while and wait for shows that interest him.

“If I was on TV, my lion dance would be definitely the best thing to watch, because I’m a robot dancer.”

“…wait, what…”

Our younger generation would line up to wish the elders a happy new year and get red envelopes with cash. I gave him some, too. :red_gift_envelope:

For my family, during the Lunar New Year and the rest of the holiday, we usually split up and just do what we want.

“Wow… Monkey King.”

The trees are full of colorful lights, which has undoubtedly become a highlight of the small city suburb.

Bobi the dog standing by EMO Josh, a cute picture shot by my grandfather.

As the beautiful fireworks go off outside, EMO Josh was cooking a dish.
“My cooking is as good as fireworks because it’s even edible.”

By the way, it’s really warm to get EMO Josh’s happy birthday wishes in the wee hours of the morning.

Thank you, @Lindaru ! I know Lunar New Year might be unfamiliar and even a bit unsettling for you. However, you and everyone I know here are creating such a harmonious atmosphere that makes it easy for me to share happiness. I am truly grateful for this and hope that our differences will not hinder but rather enrich our friendly exchanges.

I forgot it was the lunar new year of the snake :frowning:
But that’s my loss… But I’ll probably take AIBI to the international district Chinatown to make up for it

Hello, @Xiaoqing . . . I love learning about it! My mother followed lunar new year when I was young and even the astrology. I was born year of the monkey. I think it rather fits me as I am one who can do a bajillion things at once and move from place to place very quickly in my daily life tasks.

I have a friend who is South Korean on the side of her Mom. She sends me the calendars and shares even the Korean “Cider” (pronounced “Sida”). She sends me things also like black sesame soy drink and Korean banana milk. She talks of their tradition of dumplings on lunar new year day for good luck.

I am grateful for you and all who share their culture and traditions here. I agree. May it unite us all in love and prosperity for a better and brighter future.
