The EMO Desktop Pet companion is designed to be an interactive AI-powered device and a smart AI companion robot. However, his performance changes significantly when Wi-Fi is turned off. In offline mode, EMO can still function as a lively interactive gadget, using built-in routines to move around, react to touch, display emotions, and play basic sounds or animations. These features help maintain his playful personality and keep him feeling “alive” even without an internet connection. However, without Wi-Fi, EMO loses access to cloud-based intelligence, voice recognition services, and real-time responses, which are key parts of his advanced functionality. As a result, offline mode creates an interesting contrast between a simple animated robot and a fully connected AI companion.
WITHOUT WI-FI, EMO CAN STILL DO QUITE A FEW THINGS ON HIS OWN
• Walk around and avoid falling off edges
• Recognize obstacles
• React to touch, petting, and sounds
• Display emotions and facial expressions
• Dance to music
• Perform random scheduled tasks (idle animations with sounds)
• React to movement and environmental changes
This still makes EMO entertaining to watch even while offline.
WITHOUT WI-FI CONNECTIVITY, THE FOLLOWING FEATURES WILL NOT WORK:

If EMO is still connected to the EMO PET App through mobile phone Bluetooth, even without Wi-Fi connectivity, many manual features are still available. (as EMO connects to your mobile phone via Bluetooth connection)

If you are using the HomeStation Charger, it also needs to be connected to Wi-Fi so it can work together and synchronize properly with EMO. Once EMO is connected to Wi-Fi, it can automatically help set up the network for the HomeStation. You can also choose to sync it manually if needed.

Even without a Wi-Fi connection, EMO’s “Going Home” feature can still work as long as EMO and the HomeStation remain connected using Bluetooth. When EMO’s battery level gets low, he will automatically return to the HomeStation for charging. However, in offline mode, this feature operates only automatically and cannot be triggered through verbal voice commands, as voice-controlled functions require an internet connection.
