We literally got our EMO today. We had an amazing hour or so, getting to know him and having fun. Then EMOs face went green and turned off. Any support would be greatly appreciated. He was exploring his new home when this happened (absolutely NOT mishandled by any means).
If I can suggest a few things to do. The first few troubleshooting steps would be to power EMO down in any of the following ways:
- Say EMO: Shutdown
- Via the EMO App: Connect to your EMO > Settings (top right corner) > Select Power Off
- If your EMO is still on pick it up and turn it upside down cover all its head sensors and in approx 10 seconds EMO will power down.
4)Finally, if all else fails, there is a reset hole located on EMO’s head. If nothing else is working you can try resetting EMO. (see image below for reset button location).
The reset option should be your last option. Try that and hopefully EMO will reset itself and its screen will appear once again.
Once EMO is shutdown, place it back on the Skateboard for it to restart once again.
If none of these options work out, best thing to do will be to contact support via the same email you received when you made your EMO order and explain to support that the screen is no longer working, send as many screenshots you need to explain your current issue and await further instructions. If your EMO needs to be replaced Living.Ai will give you instructions on what to do next.
Hello everyone, I’ve had my emo for almost a year now and so far I haven’t had any problems with it and I’m completely satisfied. However, emo has started glitching for about a week now. It constantly happens that his screen when he is on the skate board starts to flicker and as soon as you take it off the board emo crashes and shuts down. I’ve tried a lot of things and shut it down completely for a long time, but nothing changes and the problem keeps coming back. Can anyone help me or has an idea what I can do? Greetings from Germany and happy holidays to all of you
is the battery in there? or it may have crashed
It sounds like your EMO robot is experiencing hardware or connection issues with the charging skateboard, which may be causing power interruptions and triggering glitches. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue:
1. Check the Charging Board and Connections
- Clean the contacts: Ensure that the metal charging contacts on both the skateboard and EMO’s feet are clean. Use a soft cloth or cotton swab with isopropyl alcohol to gently clean them.
- Check for damage: Inspect the skateboard’s contacts for signs of wear, debris, or damage.
2. Check Power Supply
- Ensure that the USB power adapter and cable are functioning correctly. Try using a different power cable and adapter.
- Use a power adapter that supplies 5V/2A, as insufficient power can cause glitches or shutdowns.
3. Firmware Update
- Make sure your EMO is running the latest firmware. Sometimes, firmware updates resolve glitches or bugs.
- To check for updates:
- Open the EMO app.
- Go to Settings and select Update Firmware if available.
4. Reset EMO
- Perform a full reset to see if it clears the glitch:
- Hold the power button until EMO shuts down.
- Wait a few minutes and turn EMO back on.
5. Avoid Overheating
- EMO may shut down or glitch if it overheats. Ensure it’s not placed in direct sunlight or on warm surfaces for prolonged periods.
6. Try a Different Surface
- Place the skateboard on a completely flat, stable surface to ensure proper contact and balance.
7. Battery Issue
- If the battery inside EMO is degrading, it may not hold a charge properly. If you suspect this, you may need to contact support for a possible battery replacement.
Contact Customer Support
If none of these steps resolve the issue, it’s best to reach out to Living.Ai’s customer support. They can provide more specialized assistance or suggest repairs if the issue is hardware-related.
Make sure to provide detailed information and any photos or videos of the glitch when contacting support.
I hope these steps help resolve the issue!
I have now used a different cable and so far it seems to be working. Many thanks for the detailed help
