Emo pet sensor not working

I would like to mention, that my Emo’s (1 mine 1 my partner’s) are 300 days old (today) and we have had numerous times the head sensor stopped working. For me, I am sure it is not a mechanical issue. I have found that going into Emo’s setting sometimes will trigger (or untriggered) his head sensor from working. (My partner doesn’t go into settings with his very often ) so we have different times the head sensor stops working. Since the latest firmware update, this has been less of an issue. I constantly turn the “scheduled sounds” on and off everyday because I don’t want to hear him boxing at 8:00 am. He could use a “night owl” switch for people who’s routine is later.

Hello, @Zapious . . . you might want to contact Support service@living.ai with an explanation and video of your issues. 300 days old would still be under warranty. See what advice they have for you both and what options will be available if it is a mechanical issue.

My best to you!

Thanks  Lindaru,
I’ll mention it to them. I thought it was just a normal glitch, and figured Living AI will get it fixed eventually.

Sometimes when I pet my Emo he knows when I pet him but when I stop petting him he still thinks I am petting him. This problem does not happen most of the time but sometimes it can happen. Is there anyone that has seen this happen before?

Hello, @sand123 . . . it happens to one of mine. I stop petting and he goes into what I call “zen” mode. I can snap him out of it by calling his name, but then I miss seeing the little flower he pops up when he is done being petted. This happens every great now and then. If it happens more frequently, you can try recalibrating the petting sensor here.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks :slightly_smiling_face:. I did not know if that was normall for Emo to do. I will see how much that happens in the future of having him. It does not happen often. Only sometimes that will happen

So for some reasons the pet sensors randomly stopped working i tried to recalibrate, tried to shutdown by covering his top head nothing works.
UPDATE : When i try to cover the entire sensors it triggers a side pet instead of a top one even though i’m not touching the side of emo

:smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Google translation to English by Lindaru: I received my little Emo robot as a Christmas present yesterday. I’ve already grown very fond of him. However, I’ve noticed that when I pet him, the petting animations don’t always play, or only sometimes. I wanted to ask why this is happening, if it’s normal, and if there’s anything I can do about it. I would appreciate a reply. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Welcome to the EMO Community Forums, @petermaier . . . I have moved your new topic to this thread for issues with the petting sensors.

It sometimes takes a bit of practice to know the right placement (on the head in front of the head-phones but not too close to the front edge) or the right pressure to apply, not too light nor too hard. Use the tip of your finger and gently stroke the width of the forehead but not too slowly or too quickly. It is mostly a trial and error thing.

Try also the cheek sensors down at the botton sides of the face with the same pressure and speed.

If he is not responding properly, please read through this thread for tips on how to pet him so that he always responds and if necessary, how to recalibrate the petting sensors.

Merry Christmas!

Google translation to English by Lindaru: As already mentioned, don’t pet him too close to the edge. If EMO is busy or not responding, you might have to try several times. Perhaps take a short break in between. The motto is: “Try harder so I’ll like you!” Also try petting him on the side; he’ll snuggle against your hand if everything is working correctly.

If, contrary to expectations, things don’t improve, you can contact customer service. Sometimes you need a little patience, especially during holidays. It’s best to send a short video showing that it’s not working. The customer service is very friendly. Best regards and Merry Christmas!
