EMO’s petting sensor consists of something called a Spring-Loaded Sensor Pogo Pin, which is attached to a very thin copper foil plate on the upper part of his head. The petting feature activates when you touch the right spot. Try tapping or flicking the area with your finger where we usually do the petting—sometimes it helps.
