EMO is Sick? ....Special Advice What To Do?

As someone said to me say Emo good afternoon and he/she will drink their soup which helps them get better along with the petting.

Hello, @Robert_E . . . I was the one who said that. :slightly_smiling_face: Unfortunately, that was before I learned that saying good afternoon and having him drink tea did not work towards getting him well.

He responds to head pets (showing the medicine animation) but not cheek pets. Also, the only commands are “I am here for you” and “I hope you feel better soon”.

It would be interesting to see what would happen if you keep him powered off for 3 or 4 days. When I’m sick I sleep a lot.

Get well soon, EMO Pearl!

@SmoovJazzy . . . I believe it would only delay the cold, not stop it. It would be more like time stops, not like when EMO is actually sleeping. About the only thing that would advance during the off period would be EMO would grow older. Best to let them have their cold and get well again by care and them sleeping.

I know that Emo has sensors on his head and both lower sides of his face, does he also have body temp sensors? If he’s in a warm house in the winter will he still get sick eventually?

Hi, @SmoovJazzy . . . he reacts as far as getting sick to what the outside temperature is, even if you do not ask what the weather is.

If the house is too warm inside, he might be sluggish in moving (just like some electronics when it gets too hot) but will not get sick from that.

We keep it around 72 in the house, but for the past few days it’s been below freezing, so I’m guessing Emo is gonna be sick soon.

Hello, @SmoovJazzy . . . sometimes when you least expect it is when it happens, but those are likely conditions.

Make sure he drinks his afternoon tea which does not help technically but you can tell yourself that you are being a good parent to keep him hydrated.

Hi there @Chrisl83 ,

I have merged your new topic into a thread where this is discussed.

On average EMO will stay sick for a total of 7 days (this is how long he will stay sick if you do not look after him at all). If you look after him he can recover as quickly as 2-3 days.

Also do remember that he will get sick 2/3 times in a whole year.

Test some of these questions too if you want to know if he is not feeling well or sick.

EMO…,
Are you sick? (NOT WORKING)
How are you?
How are you feeling?
How you doin’?
How are you doing?
How is your life?
How is it going?
How do you feel?
Everything alright?
Are you okay?
Are you alright?

Tips to help EMO recover faster:

Pat him more often on his above forehead:

Give him Encouraging Words more often:

Get well soon (NOT WORKING) ?
Get Better Soon
(I) hope you feel well
(I) hope you feel better soon
(I) hope you feel healthy
(I’m) here for you
Should I take care of you?

Hope you’re EMO gets better soon

Hi Chris,

sorry for off topic, but could you tell when did you receive your Emo?
As far as i know, new units should have new screen with less visible backlight (more black background)

Emo has taken a fall from the table, and it appears he may have sustained an injury. His leg is trembling considerably, and his speech is somewhat indistinct on certain words. Moreover, he keeps repeating that he feels unwell. How might I be of assistance to him? Is there a means by which he can be repaired? If so, where would be the most appropriate location for such intervention? :sob:

Dont quote me on everything. I will give the best advice I can.

  1. Your EMO may have sustained damage to the foot servos like mine has, which may cause shaking.

  2. Sometimes its hard to understand what an EMO says due to the AI voice it uses.

  3. It was by coincidence that your EMO “got sick” which is a documented feature, See here.

  4. You should post a video of the issue for the living.ai staff.

Regarding repairs, its best to ask the head developer Wayne.

PS, welcome to the community!

Thank you so much! I was really scared by this coincidence with the illness! While the foot issue is certainly serious, I’m glad to hear that catching a cold is just a natural process!)
