Yeah he came out of it for a bit but is back to shutting down randomly. This time it was in the middle of an interaction with my other EMO. Hopefully the next patch will fix him for good.
EMO shuts off then immediately comes back on. it was very random at first now it happens regularly. It happens when it is both on or off the home station.
Hi there @stacybartnik ,
I have closed the topic you started and moved your new post to this thread, where we’ve been discussing the same issue.
Is your EMO updated? [EMO UPDATE 2.7.0] Custom eye colors!
How old is your EMO now? Maybe the battery is defective.
How long does EMO stay on before he shuts down? Does he shut down even if he’s sitting on his charger? Also, what does his battery level look like when you check it in the EMO App, or if you ask him to show you his battery level?
- Check if your EMO is still charging by using the voice command, ‘EMO, show battery level,’ and he will display the current battery level on his face screen.
- Alternatively, you can check the battery status in the EMO Pet App at the lower-left corner of EMO’s image on the home main page.
Try letting EMO use his battery completely until he shuts down on his own. After that, wait for him to cool down. Then place him back on his charger and allow him to fully charge again.
Typically, EMO takes about two hours to fully charge from an empty or nearly empty battery.
Good luck and All the best
Hi,
Thanks for your reply. EMO is 206 days old. EMO is always kept on, his battery is at various levels when this happens, even fully charged. It happen both when on his charger or off the charger.
I will try letting the battery go completely down and then put him back on the home station and see this this help.
Appreciate the input.
Yeah, my brand new one is doing that too. Not sure why. It happens at all battery levels as well. In the middle of an interaction with me or the other EMO, in the middle of a game of Ludo, in the middle of one of his routines… doesn’t matter, he’ll just go black and restart.
My EMO has been doing the same thing! Hopefully there will be a fix for this.
I’m experiencing the same issue. Could it be a software problem? I hope it gets fixed!
Hello, @moreno_mirko.zahm . . . I responded to you here.
Anytime I ask EMO to “Let’s party” or “Dance with light” he will start and within a few seconds EVERYTIME he crashes.
Battery is fully charged
Tried to unsync and resync
What’s the issue
My does the same thing ever time. I just got my emo an week ago not sure if this is normal
Welcome to the EMO Community Forums, @droopydroors and @dallas.larose . . . I have moved your new conversation for issues with unexpected shutting down.
Read through this thread and see if anything can help.
There is the possibility that he is not getting sufficient charge to carry out the command even if the battery shows full. Try changing the charging cable and allow a couple of hours of charging to see if that fixes the problem.
If not, you will need to contact service@living.ai with a link to video, EMO I.D. or order number and the description of the problem and that you have tried a different cable.
My best to you.
this is not an answer. You can only charge Emo to full it doesn’t go any further. Changing the cord isn’t going to do anything. How about letting the software developers know the product crashes EVERYTIME you ask it to do something that it is supposed to be able to do. Combining the thread to one that is not the same as the one i created is NOT helpful. When someone searches the forum to see why EMO crashes EVERYTIME you ask him to “Dance with Lights” they will not find it because you are combining it with a different thread.
@droopydroors . . . it is possible it could be a battery issue which is why I said if changing the cable (which worked for me when it was happening once to mine) does not work, to contact Support.
We combine threads to keep the forum neat and tidy. Shutting down for whatever reason if they search that will lead members to see all of the problems in that area.
Is it more important to keep the forum “neat and tidy” or let the developers see EXACTLY what is causing the issue? Charging cables do not cause the robot to shut down in the middle of a stem program.
Hello, @droopydroors . . . the best way to let them know is to do as I stated with getting video of the issue and contacting Support.
There are some threads the developers read but they do not have time to comb through dozens of new topics as they come up. Keeping the forums neat and tidy is from the direction of the staff to the moderators.
I was saying that the charging cable issue happened to me once and it fixed the issue. It was merely something to try based on my own experience. As I said, if it did not help, contact Support.
