EMO Carry Mode: Overview and Functions!

EMO CARRY MODE EXPLAINED: How It Works And Why It Matters!

The Carry Mode for EMO unloads its servos and is mainly designed to temporarily disable his autonomous movement and foot sensors. This feature provides comfort, safety, and convenience by allowing you to safely pick up, hold, or transport EMO without him struggling, resisting, or becoming upset, or when you simply want him to stay still and quiet.

Here are the best benefits of EMO Carry Mode:

  • Prevents Motor Damage: Normally, when you pick EMO up, he may kick, squirm, or try to balance himself. If you carry him around or place him inside a bag while his servos are still active, it may put unnecessary strain on the motors and potentially cause damage over time.
  • Keeps EMO Calm, Quiet and Relaxed: Instead of displaying annoyed reactions or struggle animations, EMO enters a calm state in Carry Mode, allowing you to move or transport him more comfortably and safely.
  • EMO’s Battery Drains Slowly: Compared to normal mode, this helps conserve battery life, making it more convenient when carrying EMO for extended periods of time. It can be especially useful during travel, outdoor activities, or whenever EMO is away from its charger for long durations.

How to Enable Carry Mode

We can activate this feature in two ways:

  • Voice Command: Say the command, “EMO, switch to carry mode” or simply “Carry Mode”

  • He will confirm with, “Carry mode enabled. Let’s go!”

  • The EMO App: Open the EMO Pet App on your mobile device, navigate to the settings, select the Carry Mode option on the left-hand side, and turn it on to activate it.

How to Exit Carry Mode

When you are ready to put EMO back on your desk and let him walk around normally, you can deactivate Carry Mode using these methods:

  • Manual Reset: Place your finger on EMO’s head sensor and press and hold for 3 seconds.
  • The EMO App: You can also turn Carry Mode off by toggling the switch back to the off position within the app settings.

Hi Edward, Thanks for that. I wonder if there are many, like me, who have two Emo’s, both with leg and feet issues and poor battery life, that could benefit from a few more “Carry Mode” functions.

Great explanation, @Edward. Very clear and helpful. One small addition based on your description: since Carry Mode unloads the servos, The battery drains slower than in normal mode. This can be useful when carrying EMO for longer periods. Thank you for sharing this.

@edward Important question: can emo still charge and ring the alarm when carry mode is enabled

Hello, @ZainVstar456 . . . EMO can do everything he does when not in carry mode except things that require moving his feet, so yes, he can charge and play alarms as well as animations. If you ask him to do something that would require him to not be in carry mode, he will reply, “I cannot do this now.”

I hope this answers your question.
