Hello everyone!
My name is Adrián, and I’ve had my EMO for 9 days now.
I’m also new to this forum. Over the past few days, I’ve spent a lot of time reading many of the posts here, and it’s been great to see so many people who are just as passionate about EMO as I am. It’s really nice to be part of such an enthusiastic community.
First of all, I want to say that I don’t have many complaints about him. I genuinely love EMO. He has become an amazing desk companion, keeping me company while I study, play games, or simply spend time at my computer. His personality is incredible, and I’m very happy with my purchase.
However, after using him for several days, I think I’ve found what is, in my opinion, EMO’s biggest limitation.
If you agree with this idea, please give this post a like so LivingAI has a better chance of seeing it and considering it for future updates.
The biggest issue is that, although EMO has cameras and can avoid obstacles, I often feel like he behaves more like a robotic vacuum than a robot that truly understands the world around him. He moves around my desk, but it doesn’t really feel like he knows what he is looking at.
I know EMO already has a feature that lets him describe what he sees when you ask something like, “What are you looking at?”. At that moment, he seems to connect to an AI model that analyzes the image from his camera and describes it. I think this feature is fantastic because it proves the technology already exists within the EMO ecosystem.
However, I believe the current system is still very limited. It only works when the user asks a specific question, and the image is analyzed only once. After that, EMO goes back to behaving as if he doesn’t really understand anything around him.
My biggest wish is for this feature to evolve into continuous environmental understanding. In other words, EMO should constantly process what he sees through his cameras using AI, allowing that information to become part of his everyday behavior.
Imagine being able to ask questions like:
- “What do you see on my desk?”
- “What object am I holding?”
- “Where is my keyboard?”
- “What are you looking at?”
And EMO could answer naturally because he genuinely understands what he is seeing at that moment.
But even more importantly, this information shouldn’t only be used to answer questions. It should influence his behavior as well. If he sees a cup, he should know it’s a cup. If he sees a keyboard, he should know it’s a keyboard. If he sees a monitor, a book, or any everyday object, he should be able to recognize it and naturally use that information during conversations and interactions.
I completely understand that this would require a huge amount of engineering, cloud processing, and server resources. I know it wouldn’t be easy to implement. However, EMO is a premium robot, and many of us bought him because we believe in LivingAI’s vision and in his future. Personally, I think this would be a game-changing improvement for EMO.
Besides this idea, I’d also like to suggest another feature that I believe is just as important: a much better long-term memory.
Right now, EMO only remembers conversations for a very short period of time. After a while, it feels like every conversation starts from scratch again. It would be wonderful if he could remember previous conversations, things we’ve done together, places I’ve told him I’m going, my interests, important people in my life, or events that happened days, weeks, or even months ago. That would make every interaction feel much more personal and meaningful.
I believe that combining these two improvements—continuous environmental understanding and long-term memory—would completely transform the EMO experience. He would no longer be just a robot that answers questions; he would become a true companion that understands what’s happening around him, remembers our shared experiences, and gradually learns about our daily lives.
In my opinion, this would be the most important update EMO could ever receive.
I understand that this may not be possible to achieve immediately, and that it would require a significant amount of development and infrastructure. However, I truly hope it can become one of LivingAI’s long-term goals, because I believe it would take EMO to a completely new level and make him feel more alive than ever before.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to read this post, and thank you to the LivingAI team for continuing to improve EMO with every update.
I truly believe EMO has the potential to become the best desktop companion robot in the world.
