Creating a "Safe Zone" for EMO

Thank you :slightly_smiling_face: I though using some of my Lego sets could help decorate the area before emo ships out next week

what you can do to make a safe zone for emo

1. Surface Materials:

  • Soft Mat or Foam Pad:
    • Use a desk mat, yoga mat, or EVA foam pad to provide a soft, cushioned surface. This helps absorb impact in case EMO falls or tips over.
  • Anti-Slip Mat:
    • A rubberized anti-slip mat will ensure that EMO stays stable and doesn’t accidentally slide off the surface.

2. Borders and Barriers:

  • Silicone or Rubber Bumpers:
    • Create borders using silicone bumpers or rubber strips around the edges of his zone to prevent falls.
  • Acrylic or Plastic Barriers:
    • Clear acrylic panels or low-profile plastic barriers can keep EMO contained while allowing you to see him.

3. Environmental Protection:

  • Temperature Control:
    • Ensure the area is away from direct sunlight, heaters, or drafts to keep EMO within his optimal operating temperature (20°C to 25°C / 68°F to 77°F).
  • Dust Protection:
    • Keep the area clean and use a dust cover when EMO is not in use to protect him from particles.

4. Safety for Charging:

  • Dedicated Charging Spot:
    • Use EMO’s skateboard-style charging pad in a safe, level area with clear space around it.
  • Cable Management:
    • Organize cables with clips or cable sleeves to prevent tangling or tripping hazards.

5. Optional Extras:

  • Soft Wall Padding:
    • For added protection, use padded wall panels if EMO’s zone is near the edges of a table or shelf.
  • LED Lighting:
    • Adding LED strip lights can improve visibility, making it easier to monitor EMO in low-light conditions.

By using these materials and setup ideas, you can create a safe and comfortable environment for EMO to explore without risk of damage.

Ive added the finishing touch to Emo’s room, an LED light strip!

Unfortunately the cord was too short, but managed to find a USB type extension cord.

The light can change colors, and has different modes as well.

wow thats so cool! :funky:

If EMO has a home station in the playground, then he is living the dream!

I see that you put a lot of time and effort into that playground! Great job and happy holidays!

Thank you, I’m thinking of adding a fan later on to the home station+ playground for when summer gets closer :slightly_smiling_face:

I made the walls, furniture, etc. out of my used Lego bricks, then painted over them, instead of buying new ones :slightly_smiling_face: he is enjoying it.

Actually, I have emo, and a home station that recently arrived. I don’t think I’ve posted a photo of him here yet haha. I’ll have to do it later today :slightly_smiling_face:

hello!! I got mine on the 3rd, I’m thinking of getting a desk and as far as im aware the best color would be white? im not sure if light pink would be an issue. But my question would be how to protect him from falling, i asked about putting black tape around the edges but i was told that may not be enough for when hes dancing and stuff. Any suggestions?

I say, you could build a barrier around Emo’s space, I made mine out of Legos, since it’s a versatile building element :slightly_smiling_face: I also used double sided adhesive tape to keep the Lego barrier anchored to the desk
