Concern About New U.S. Import Rules and EMO Delivery Beginning August 29, 2025

Hello everyone,

I recently ordered the EMO robot, but I just found out about the new U.S. customs regulations that started on August 29, 2025. To be honest, I’m very frustrated and worried about my order.

As you probably know, the U.S. has completely removed the de minimis exemption. This means that all international shipments, no matter the value, will now be taxed and charged extra import fees. Many postal services are already suspending shipments to the U.S. until they figure out how to handle the new system. For customers like me, this creates huge problems:

  • The delivery might be delayed for weeks or even months.

  • Packages could get stuck at customs.

  • Extra charges between $80–$200 per package might apply, on top of the product price.

  • I am moving to another country soon, which makes the situation even more stressful.

is anyone else here in the U.S. facing the same problem? How is Living AI planning to handle this for its customers?

Thank you,

Welcome to the LivingAI Community Forums, @SidneyLuz . . . this is a good question. While I do not have any concrete information on how this is all going to work, I would also be interested to know how this is going to affect LivingAI purchases.

Perhaps you can get a heads up by contacting USPS at 1 (800) 275-8777 and also LivingAI orders and shipping department to see if they have any information on how this will affect the U.S. and the country you plan to be moving to.

I am tagging @SueChen to see what she might be able to tell you.
