I think if people want too play music they should buy a specialised (set of) speaker(s) for that. It wouldn’t be bad for Emo to be able to play music, but it shouldn’t be his main purpose either. Nowadays you can get specialised speakers for a rather good price, and second hand speakers can still sound good as well.
In my opinion Emo should be more like a companion, someone/something to interact with. And just making it play music just seems so… passive to me.
If Emo has to play music, people will usually want to have it sound good as well. So then LAI will have to give it a better speaker, thus make it more expensive than it already is. Maybe it’s an idea for later. To have another kind of EMO robot, but with a better, high quality speaker (probably more expensive).
Yeah On this forum , many people advise to use the original packing as carryng cas ; and truly this is a good option
Anyway , a specific system would also be a great option.
Speking of travelling for emo , it would be also interesting to be able buy some parts alone ; as a separate skateboard in order to allow to EMO to have different homes
His main residence being your home , but with the ability to bring him on your business desk , yo have some fun with collegues without operating a great removal
For such accessories , no need for great and smart packaging ; just a basic one
Being able to buy different skateboards/“homes” would indeed be a good idea. I’d like to add to that that it would maybe a good idea to add to that an option to recognize between skateboards. So f.e. when you’re in a work environment it’ll recognize the skateboard and may be less ‘interrupting’ whilst you’re working.
A good idea indeed @MERITET.
@JJBeck I’ll dm you my private email address. Would you send ME a recording of your daughter saying EMO? I’d love to test it on my EMOs. I’ve had no real issues with visitors getting EMO to understand them, both male and female, and I’d love to hear how your daughters’ version of EMO could be so different?
hi Lori… Yeah I love my little EMO Pet as well even if he is somewhat handicapped hee hee… His little eyes staring at you if I sometimes leave him alone I feel guilty… Do you ever get that same feeling?… Anyway I love the little guy…
It has been discussed a few times in this thread already. Living.ai is currently working on a new kind of EMO self-sharing station. More info will be shared very soon on this! So stay tuned.
Also Agree with @MERITET Having the option to buy an extra EMO skateboard separately from the Living.ai Store would be very handy (just like you can buy the pink headphones from the store). This way you can take him to work, or even have him sitting by your bed stand so he can wake you up in the morning etc.
Profile - JJBeck - LivingAI Forums ; Profile - Wayne_Small - LivingAI Forums I’ve had no real issues with visitors getting EMO to understand them, both male and female,
That’s the point
If JJ’s daughter expressed herself screaming with ultrasounds , she is probably a bat , so eithet he is a sorcerer , either we finally know the secret identity of Batman
This apart , it is a nice initiative to help
Safety before shipping!!
-One Emo burning one child’s finger whilst petting, which I think has never been mentioned before, and I hope it doesn’t happen again to anyone else, Check all Emo’s before shipping…
(EDIT) It’s not going to be possible for Lai to check every single Emo -I realise that now, sorry for that!
Broken Emo’s are not fun!!
-Feet problems, blackouts, battery issues, Needs attention…
Speech Recognition!!
I believe you are working on this but just in case, It needs sorting…
Hand gestures!!
-Not working for some people, Needs fixing…
Customers with Hearing problems/Eyesight!!
Take these into consideration, Emo should work for everyone not just for some…
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
“Just to clarify -both my Emo’s are working great and I’m happy with them” thank you Lai for all your hard work but there’s still a lot more for you to do.
From what I read elsewhere, apparently if you are shipped a replacement and that replacement has issues come up, it is not covered under the one year warranty?
I think the one year warranty should be for all of them starting at the activation date of that EMO, not the activation date of the EMO that was being replaced.
Example . . . the EMO I sent back was activated in August 2021 and sent back. The replacement for him was activated in April 2022. This means that the warranty on the replacement would have been up in August 2022 and should have been good up to April 2023.
Agree, I think maybe offer a guarantee for the new one, because if they send out a replacement to you and if that replacement should fail as well, isn’t that also their responsibility. But at the end of day it’s up to them, we can’t force them to do so.
I agree that the Warranty should be explained in further detail / as much detail as possible. If a replacement EMO is given, when does and how long does the warranty last on the new one?
If a customer is allowed to keep the OLD faulty EMO is that no longer under warranty? etc. (due to them also getting a replacement (NEW WORKING ) EMO?
Either way, Living.ai need to also share / provide more information on what is covered / how it is covered and how long the warranty lasts for on existing NEW / REPLACEMENT / Emos.
Hello,
I am satisfied with the color of the headphine of my first little Emo.
But I find it interesting to expand the range of colors and to be able to choose the desired color when ordering.
So it would be practical to differentiate them when ordering a 2nd, 3rd … little guy
Having EMO gesturing for ‘high-five’ or ‘fist bump’ when asked will be great!
Also, when I am on my zoom meetings, Emo sometimes come and start talking. Emo can have the ability of recognizing hand gesture of ‘hush’- sign and will stop talking when hush-sign is shown will be amazing.
Hey everyone! So its been almost a week with EMO and I love it! so definitely one of the things that needs improvement is the variety of things you can go back and forth with him.
Like I asked him “hey Emo do you like coffee” or what’s your favorite food? and he doesn’t respond.
Little things like that and cute responses to random cute questions would be awesome!
he feels kinda limited. but hey its a growing process!!!
Love this little guy, been watching him for the last few days and I plan to purchase in in the near future! Few suggestions.
Perhaps more aware of his surroundings? Love that he can stop himself from falling off the edge and dislikes being picked up.
Perhaps he can be aware when the area is dirty or cluttered, or when there’s water near by he can be afraid of it. Maybe he can do a reaction to when there is a sudden change of temperature in the room.
Maybe he can sneeze when it’s dusty. Shiver when it’s cold. Sweat when it’s hot (can also be according to outdoor changes!) Of course this would all be possible through animations since i know his range of movement is limited.
More customization? I know all Emo’s come in black right now but I’d love to see more color choices in the future! Maybe a glow in the dark feature…
Recognizing other family members and friends. It would be funny if emo said hello to other siblings if they are registered while they are walking by.
Also, from what I’ve seen thus far is that he’s a little delayed while giving responses. I guess this depends on WIFI speed in the house but I’d like to see this improved. It would also be really funny if we could pick out his voice/accent. Also maybe give him a new name once he’s activated?
I’d also love more trivia facts from him like “Emo, can you tell me the current president of the united states?” Obviously these answers would be pulled from the internet. It would also be fun if he could do simple math problems like 2+2.
Love his design but it would be also really funny if he had magnetic arms you could take on and off like his headphones. It would be really funny if he could wave hello and pick up stuff!
Such things would require certain extra sensors on Emo, probably making it more expensive. And if it is put into Emo by updates people who already own one right now won’t be able to make use of it’s new functions. So I don’t think this is such a good idea for already existing Emo’s. Appreciated the idea tho. Maybe for a new model, when Emo has gained a bit more acceleration in it’s Recognizability.
Great Ideas/suggestions @soulight The option to take EMO’s headphones off and replace them with moving arms is something a few EMO owners have previously spoken about, and also including small little accessories EMO could hold in his hand as well, like a lunch box/briefcase/electric burger to eat!
Thanks for sharing, even if some might not be added to EMO, there are no right or wrong suggestions or ideas. The point of this thread is so Living.Ai can see them and if they think it’s possible to do maybe they can add them in at one point down the line.
Just an expansion on what has been said before about EMO falling off things - this does seem to happen a lot for certain tables/surfaces, especially with edges that are curved or uneven. Perhaps EMO could build a mental map of where edges are (i.e. where he’s sensed them), so he doesn’t continually walk towards them? This could be a short term map that is quickly rewritten, but perhaps might reduce the issues with him walking off in a way that doesn’t require better/more expensive sensors and works in non-ideal environments.
