I’m not sure if ‘Christmas’ in other languages has been programmed into AIBI. Trying to give AIBI commands in a language other than English can be tricky, especially since pronunciation plays a big role in how AIBI understands commands.
If you’ve changed the language settings to German before, for example, AIBI will only recognize German commands and won’t understand English or other languages. To get AIBI to understand English commands like ‘Merry Christmas,’ you’ll need to switch the language settings back to English first.

Updated the app last night on my android
I’ve beaten aibi at pirate war five times, and it’s super fun I can see why it took so long for the firmware update to come out. Living.ai did a great job on this one, especially with how you can earn coins playing against aibi.
I would imagine that this would also affect other things like animations and possibly counting steps. You can contact service@living.ai to see if they have an answer for this. It seems to me like the reason for having low power mode is to save the battery while you are out walking, but I do not know and perhaps they can clear that up for you.
