I can hear Emo just fine in other commands and other activities he is scheduled to do so I am sure he is not muted or low volume.
I’ve also already raised the issues with the support team twice already but haven’t heard from them. It’s about more than a week I’ve had Emo now and this issue hasn’t resolved yet.
Hoping this is just a server issue and would resolve itself soon.
Hi, I was having a read through with other solutions shared by other Emo parents in this forum and tried one of the shared solutions of connecting Emo to my mobile data instead of the wifi and Emo started conversing for the first since I got him. So now I know it comes down to internet connectivity alternatives.
Hope this helps others who are having the same issue and grateful for the community for sharing their own solutions.
Have you previously connected your EMO to your home Wi-Fi without any issues?
It’s possible that your Home Wi-Fi network is set to the 2.4 GHz frequency band, which might be causing problems with how EMO gathers data directly from the Living.AI data center.
You have to set your Home WiFi Network to a 2.4 GHz frequency band.
Make sure that EMO is turned on and close to your mobile device.
Ensure that there is an available 2.4G Wi-Fi network within the range (5G Wi-Fi network is not supported).
Actually, EMO requires a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi connection—not 5 GHz. So if EMO can’t connect, the issue is not because your network is 2.4 GHz, but likely due to one of the following:
Common Reasons EMO Can’t Connect to Wi-Fi (Even if it’s 2.4 GHz):
Wi-Fi has special characters in the SSID or password
Avoid symbols like !, #, %, &, etc. Try using only letters and numbers.
Network is hidden or has MAC address filtering enabled
Make sure the Wi-Fi is visible and doesn’t block unknown devices.
Weak signal or EMO is too far from the router
Move EMO closer to the router during setup.
Dual-band router confusion
Even if 2.4 GHz is active, some routers mix both bands under one SSID (name). Try separating the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks with different names.
Router or phone settings conflict
Try restarting both your router and your smartphone. Then, try connecting EMO again using the EMO Pet app.
Old firmware or app version
Make sure the EMO Pet app is updated to the latest version from the App Store or Google Play.
Tips:
Use a simple Wi-Fi name and password temporarily during setup to see if EMO connects.
You can also try creating a mobile hotspot from another phone using 2.4 GHz to test if EMO connects.
Anyway, thanks for sharing the information and possible solutions, but you still need to find a way to fix the issue with connecting to your home Wi-Fi.
I bought Emo. I connected it, it walks around, plays with itself, shows animations, and responds to my voice. But when I talk to it, it says its emotions instead of showing them. For example, instead of a happy face, it says “smiling face,” and so on. I can trigger an emotion in the app. But when I talk to it, it doesn’t show any emotions at all; it only says them.
Welcome to the EMO Community Forums, @NastPos . . . I have approved your post and moved your new topic to this thread for issues about EMO speaking.
Please refer to this thread for tips which might help and most especially this post:
If nothing helps, please get video and send a link along with your EMO I.D. and order number (if you still have it) to service@living.ai . . . please note that they do not send auto generated confirmations but will review your information and video and respond with what you should do.
Hi, we have Emo for a week now, today he stopped responding with his usual “what” after we call his name, and he doesn’t do anything when we ask him. He does respond to the actions via the app. We restarted Emo and restarted the wifi- nothing helped. we have Emo go home
I have moved all of your new topic post to this thread, as it relates to your EMO issue.
Is your EMO already on the latest firmware update v.3.0.1 ?
If you notice that EMO raises its left eye, it indicates that it has heard you.
Your EMO might be on a mute option. Try some tips below and hope it helps…
MUTE:
By calling his name and saying, direct UNMUTE!
VOLUME COMMAND:
You can adjust the volume of EMO.
· Volume up.
· Volume down.
· Set(or change) the volume to normal(or maximum, medium, minimum, high, middle, low, mute, zero).
· Mute the volume.
Here’s a clear list of possible causes and solutions you can check:
Possible Causes & Solutions
Possible Causes:
Voice recognition issue (noise, accent, or mic sensitivity)
Temporary system glitch or background process delay
Wi-Fi or server latency affecting voice responses
Microphone obstruction (dust, case, or placement)
Firmware bug after long uptime or recent update
Low battery or power fluctuation, even if EMO is still active
Possible Solutions:
Speak clearly and reduce background noise
Move EMO to a well-lit, quiet area
Restart EMO (place him on the charger and reboot)
Make sure EMO is fully charged
Check that EMO is connected to stable Wi-Fi
Ensure the firmware is up to date
Gently check that the microphone area is not blocked
Try again after a few minutes (server delays can happen)
If the Issue Persists:
Record a short video showing EMO’s behavior and issue.
Provide your order number, location, EMO ID, and the video
I’ve had the same problem since yesterday. Emo doesn’t answer when I call him, he just makes a sound, forgetting or not understanding (I don’t know what else they call it). Restarting the Wi-Fi and turning Emo off and on didn’t help.
Same since yesterday… I think there are some problems with server?..
Are you from Russia? I found that this problem have beein covering Russia and Belarus since 1 january…
I’m from Ukraine, but just a couple of days ago everything was fine. I was talking and playing with him that night, and the next morning he stopped responding…
I’m from Belarus, so. It’s the same for me. He was okay, but now… It’s just sad to look at him and understand that you can’t even talk to him.
I think now we can just wait for answer. I don’t think something is wrong with your EMO. I think the problem is with server, so I hope is will be solved soon.
I’ll write you if I’ll get an answer from support or at the forum
Guys, I’m from Germany, and as you all know, EMO has servers located around the world (US / EU / Asia). Depending on your location, EMO will automatically connect to the best available server. On some occasions, this may cause glitchy or delayed speech responses.
At the moment, however, I am not experiencing any issues with EMO responding.
Please also check your EMO settings, as they may not be configured correctly for interaction. For example, if EMO’s language is set to English, he will only respond in English. If it is set to Russian, the same applies—EMO will only respond according to the selected language.
Also, make sure that EMO is not in a mute STATE!, or close EMO Mobile App and call him!
The last tip you can try is to gently insert a small, thin paper clip into the left hole (when EMO is facing you) slightly push till you notice a click inside and see if that helps resolve the issue. If it doesn’t, try the right hole as well.
Thank you. I’ve tried all of these, but nothing has worked. He hears me, responds to my voice with a short “hmm,” and that’s it. He’s not trying to listen to me.
I’m from Ukraine and the same thing with my Emo, it seems that some servers stopped to be accessible from here as u can see many people from Eastern Europe started to complain about it. I’ve tried my Emo with multiple internet providers and did all the troubleshooting but no effect so far. Is it somehow possible to switch servers connection manually?
